I just got back from a trip to NT.
A big thanks to Mick, Steve and Scotty for a great trip and company.
Im not going to write to much as i might send something into a mag. If i dont get around to it ill put more up.

Both these hogs were taken on different swamps

I had alot of stalks that were all blown mainly by swirling wind except for one. I took this buff late one avo feeding in burnt country with a group of young bulls.

He may not score to high but that doesnt bother me. He is by far the biggest animal i have taken. To see him go less than 50m and expire in minutes. Was something ill never forget. Im one happy hunter.
The whole hunt was caught on video i might put it on U tube after a bit of editing.

There are some great animals up there. Of coarse I wasnt the only one who took game.

It was a great trip and experience. Its a bit different having to think about what to do if things went bad in a stalk.
There are plenty of buff up there and I had plenty of close encounters.
I cant wait to get back up there and catch up his old man.

Anyone thinking about a trip should talk to Mick (trophy bowhunts) .

That is top work Clint - nice big bodied pigs and a great buff.

A couple of questions - that hit looks like it was on the shoulder - did u get any penetration from that one? did it take more than one arrow??
and what weight arrows/setup where u using?
awesome stuff - anyone who has ever considered going after buff should give it a crack - its really something else!

Mate it was a 30m shot i wanted to get closer but one of his mates had his eyes on me. Not to shore what i was. Then he went broadside and his front leg went froward so i took a shot the first arrow went straight over his back not to shore what happened nerves? Anyway the arrow hit the ground and he turned away from me to see what made the noise was. I put another arrow on the string and sent it on its way. It hit 100mm forward from where i had planned right in the corner of the "triangle" above his front leg it must have been as far forward as possible. The arrow was a carbon tech safari arrow with a 190grain ribtech. I think the whole lot weighed over 800 grains not to shore. It went in about 2/3 of the 29" arrow. I think it hit the opposite shoulder. He had a little run over to a mate then started to wobble then fall. The bow was a bowtech tribute. I thought it was set higher but when we put it on the scales it was 75 pounds. The ribtech worked fine though one snapped on a boar next time ill use something more solid. and use brass or steel inserts.

Good stuff! I know what you mean bout the nerves - its not as easy as people think to keep calm for the shot on buff. I was badly affected despite having shot bigger animals before. You musta got him thru the heart? - the ones I shot (double lunged) didnt go down very quickly at all. Love your work - thats about as good as it gets in Aus hey?!

yeah mate hunting buff is great i would love to be able to hunt them again. The shot may have struck his heart but also got lungs as a hugh amount of blood just kept coming out of his nose while he was standing. I had to get a shovel and shovel it away for the photos and ran out of water cleaning his face up.
