hi everyone.
i have been recomened to use muzzys from a good mate and our archery supplier, but i have heared that the blades need to be replaced all the time and cant relly afford it, any thoughts about this.
cheers.
I have been using 100grain 4 blade muzzy's for the last year on goats and they have performed very well, they leave good holes and tend to bring down goats very quickly with a good shot.
Like most replaceable blade broadheads they need to be replaced often and can be expensive, but i think its worth it.
well here's an idea for ya.
Seeing as they are replacable blades which means you can remove them right  genius arn't I.:P
Take the blade and get a small pair of pliers (the ones you can lock)
Then take the blade to a sharpening stone or very fine grade wet'n'dry sand paper stuck on flat piece of wood or the like and sharpen them back up yourself. ;)
Just a thought. Might cost you all of a 30 cents for the wet'n'dry and some of your time and a little effort and your blades could be shaving sharp in no time and save you $$. :D

I have used the Muzzys myself for years.
On soft skinned animals they are great!!
On pigs they are junk!! 5 pigs, 5 muzzys and all the muzzys went to crap (They are NOT strong enough) and none of the pigs were recovered. This was on the last TBGA hunt up North with Mick Baker so I have 7 or 8 witnesses.
I now use my G5 Montecs for everything.

Bill you find the montecs fine for samll to medium pigs? Im looking for a screw in broadhead to suit foxes and pigs if possible and want to stay with 100gr models as thats the same weight as my field points. I have really only found the outbacks are recommended for pigs, but i would like something with 3 blades for foxes. Would give me the *****s if i had to change heads all the time. If the montecs are the go i will get a set.

Yeah, but I guess on something you spend as much money to hunt on as a bear, you're ok with ruining a broadhead to score one.
stick to an Aussie 2 blader if you don't have a lot of cash!
They are cheaper and will do the job just fine

David, Fred Eichler was using the Muzzy Phantoms, which are a cut-on-contact 2- or 4-blade head, and a bit more beefy than the usual Muzzy broadheads.

well my suplier says that the muzzys are more acurrate and stronger then australian 2 bladers, but i shot my outback hunters the other day ( great product woody) and they flew like a dream, almost spot on to my field tips at 20m.
were going to see him today i believe, so well see what happenes fella's, i still love the outbacks and would love to try backstumps one day, lol just need something of a decent soze to shoot at, were going to look for a pig property tomoro i hope so wish me luck fella's and thanks for all your advice.

I'd go with others advice and stick with the aussie two bladers, they will take anything you shoot them at.

Having purchaced some Muzzy's I found they aren't as sharp as other "sharp from the box" heads such as the Magnus Stingers which is a pain as sharpening the little blades isn't much fun. I am very bad at sharpening heads from scratch so prefer those that come sharp and am willing to pay extra.

I use the 100 gr for everything that Iam allowed to hunt in Australia and so far I have had no problems...
