hey there peoples i am writing to everyone out there who's taken a billy goat, what do you do with them after the kill???? i'm planning on keeping the horns so i know that much but what about the rest of it? i'm told they aren't really good to eat, the place where i'm hunting is full of foxes, i've been told to cut it open and sit back and wait for the foxes to come feeding ( i thought baiting was illegal in Aus??) but i'm just not sure i dont just wanna leave a goat carcess laying around so any ideas or suggestions would be great. thanks.:)

Horns to you, back and front legs to the dog, the rest is - as you mentioned - fox/pig bait or fertiliser.....

what howie said was right, but i'd take the skin if it was worth taking.

Yep horns to you and legs etc for the dogs. the meat could also be used for sausages if you liked to try and make your own.

Take a nice photo and take the horns if you like but as for the rest let nature take its course with the remains.

If it's a very old Billy - dog meat. In Africa the very first thing we do with a younger Billy is to remove the testicles immediately. That is before you bleed the carcass. If you're very quick, then the meat is not smelly at all.
Goat meat is very tasty if prepared the right way. I cook goat on a regular basis for my Aussie friends - they just love it. We cook it in the 3-legged African pots (cast-iron) - it is a slow process with various herbs, spices and vegetables. I'll post a few recipes later on.
In Africa some of the tribes make beautiful floor coverings from goat skins - they blend various colours together - they are stitched in a specific way. They come in all shapes and sizes - beautiful art work. I'll see if I can find some photos.

Just what do you do with them balls:o....if you want to attract foxes..my old man used to tie a carcass(chicken..goat..whatever)behind a vehicle and circle the area working into the centre and hang the carcass from a tree...the fox will pickup the scent and follow it in;)
