View Full Version : Eastman Ti-2 Extreme™ Titanium broadheads - excellent!
Guys, a recomendation (probably goes for any small, large diameter and vented 3 blade really).
Over the last week I have taken 4 goats, all with the above head and I am amazed at the way they have performed! Razor sharp from the box and a great price.
If you want a quick and humane kill, these heads will pass that test!
I would not recommend them on game larger than goats, but for anything up to goats or maybe fallow, not a problem.
All goats were hit double lung from around 20 meters. Not one of them went more than 3 meters from the spot they were hit. The wound was huge.

Thanks Gundy...where do you get them? and how much please?
I got them on e$ay mate. $13 for 3. I went to 3 blade vented due to planing problems I was having with 2 blades...the extremes fly great!

Good broadheads I have shot a few goats with them and they dropped very quickly when put through the boiler room. They are one shot wonders especially when put through the shoulder. I have since gone to Slicktricks and they fly really well and are even more lethal IMO and they are much stronger, I have never had a blade fail or come out with the Slicks. Also the blades can be replaced on the Slicks. T1s good broadhead.
I have never shot a deer so my question is would they be adequate on deer both the T1s and Slicktricks?

thanks for letting us know. i wouldn't mind giving them a try some time. the blades aren't replaceable are they? i would want to shoot one into the target first to make sure they are hitting the right spot before i headed out to the hills.
Thanks, Dan.

damn, so i take it i couldn't re-sharpen them?
Dan.
Rinaldo, I have only shot 3 fallow, but I would not hesitate to use the Ti's on them.
Thanks Ben, they were not big, but great skins. I have photos but have never been into posting my hunt pics (where game is included)...I am a little dissapointed actually as I used my new Ricoh. It is smaller than my fuji but am bloody dissapointed in its output (even at 7 mpx). I'll put up with the extra size and weight of the fuji in future. 100% better quality.
Dan, they have a collar but I can not seem to undo it, so I would say that they are not replaceable. Still, for the price and the way they perform....a great head.
I geared up and went out for a fox this morning. Saw three and enticed 2 in to 20 meters but no shots presented themselves. I think they would be magic on foxes nd bring them down quickly also. Still a bit early for old red. They are not coming to the whistle that well yet.

You can undo the collar on them with a bit of effort you just can't buy blades for them. I used the dull ones on rabbits and they worked a treat.

have any of you guys tried the trophy taker/rocket aerohead ultimate 125g?
was wondering if this style would be suitable for pigs.

The rocket broadheads I tried the blades dislodged very easily. Slicktrick the best broadhead I have tried thus far.

i dont really go much on any of the non cut on contact heads. I tried some slick tricks and thought they were crap. They left a nice big hole if you missed a rib and hit them just right but if you hit bone they pretty much stop within a few inches. I had a quartering away shot skip allong the ribs and lost a good billy. He survived to be harvested the other day but i never got on any good with them. I was using a bowtech tribute set on 80lb and my mate was using an elete of some description set on 70 and he had the same results.
have you guys had any penetration issues with them?
one things for sure tho they sure do shoot a tight group!
Macka
Went thru a few different types of mechanicals and although they make big entry/exit wounds, they rarely lasted more than one shot, often bending the ferrule or breaking off the blades or both. The reason is that to weigh 125 grains, they must remove the structural strength in some way, be using lighter metals, bigger cut outs or whatever. Since I have gone back to the two bladers I have shot several nice critters and still using the same heads, just a re-sharpen and they are good to go.
Go to a heavier more structurally sound head IMO............
I have had no probs with the STs even on pigs, but I would expect that if you hit any heavy bone mass it would pull up any broadhead. Having said that after a pass through shot and the ST's smashing into rock, they still showed very little damage. They are definitely my preferred head for all game thus far...BTW don't shoot groups with the STs...unless you want to shave off your vanes..cheers..;)

iam with macka, used slick tricks for a while, took a fair few good billys with them, but went back to the 2 bladers because of penno problems, some heads were only getting a couple of inches on good hits.the old two bladers dont even slow done, heeps better in my books.steve
