The shoot was about 32m the stag was on a 1/4 he turned more broad side as i cut the shoot i didnt see the arrow impact ,the stag kicked a bit on impacted, there was blood at hit sight blood on the lantarna where he went in at 20m a patch about 300mm round at 30m another patch about 300mm round than at 60m there was 3/4 of the arrow with a patch about 400mm .

How long did you give him after the shot before you started to follow him up?

By the looks of that blood Shane, he should be dead as a dodo.
I'm sure he will be lying dead in a clump of lantana somewhere, best of luck with finding him:)

hey peeps,

Have been into it latley, just cannot get passed these expandables I like big wound channels and lots of blood, As i feel once the hard yards have been done, and the shot in the right place I like to be able to rely on the broadheads to do the job. The challenge in making a good shot is one in itself, Ive found with these expandables they make a nice wound channel and put the game down quick,

just my two bob,

Hey Shano,

you'd know probably as much as anyone about that thick stuff and bloodtrails. a pain in the arse hey!

obviously he's screwed, though I've found that sometimes they bleed like deamons and you've hit a big vein or something that looks like a heart shot....

I see your back with the carbons and blazers too....... lol

mate that looks and sounds exactly same as what happened to me, heaps of blood on the sight then thinned out, followed it 100m then a pool but nuthing else after that, i rekon the shot on mine went high and clipped the main artery to the heart, ive been told that after the animal sits the wound can fold up and the blood wont flow out the wound, but thats probably just one mans theory, hope you find him...i neva found mine :D
