View Full Version : Navarra Gets King Hit
Well the new truck didnt last too long... Julie was driving to her sisters yesterday (with little Ella in the back) and a guy went strait through a give way sign in front of her.
Resulted in side/front impact with both cars doing about 50clicks.
Julie has some whiplash and sore wrists, headache etc, little Ella is fine though, those kids seats are pretty safe.
At first the insurance assessor was thinking it was a write off... but now looks like they are fixing it.... big shame as we wont really have a new car anymore  dont care what they say they cant totally fix that much damage.
Not only that but we are going to be without a car for an estimated 6 weeks (more likely to be 8-10). Tried to get a hire car on insurance but they tell you to get it and then 'try' and make a cliam.
Still as annoying as it all is, I'm just glad my girls are ok.
No truck for hunting trips either

Thank goodness the family are ok Barry.
Shame about the car though.
Yer sure so now its all about the family, what about me missing the upcoming hunting trip Baz and I had planned. :P
Sorry to hear Baz but I agree you would give up ten trucks before you would let anything happen to the family.
Cheers KIM
Good to hear the family is o.k cause can can happen that quick unfortunatly. And your insurance sucks.
I have (had) a insuranc ethat buys you a new truck if you make a claim in the first year and they also hire the same truck you lost, smashed what ever.
Pricks I say.
Anyway the animals can rest up now  I feel for yas. Take kims car is that posible.
Good to hear the family is allright Barry, which is the main thing but it is a pain in the arse being without you vehicle, pity they didn't write it off, they never seemto be the same after a major repair...Glenn...
Glad to hear everyone came through okay Baz. I know a couple of ambo«ÉŸs and they nick name todays baby capsules orphan makers, that«ÉŸs how well they look after the bubs in accidents. Pitty about your rig though«É∂Cheers«É∂Scott
glad to hear everone is ok.
My parents bought a brand new commodore last year did 600km. They were at a friends when a drunk guy mounted the gutter and slammed into ther car. It tore the diff out off the car the impact was that severe. The insurance company said it fell $1000 short of written off. After 4 months without a car they got it back since then it has been in half dozen more time and $1000's spent on it. Fight the barstards baz they are not the ones that have to pay for the car while it is sitting at a panel beaters waiting to get fixed. Now if the car makes a squek my old lady takes it back, she is there worst nightmare.

Glad the girls made it out OK Baz.
It is too late to change the insurance company's mind but you can atleast worn the panel beater that you won't accept anything less than better than new, stick your nose in as often as you can and don't take any of thier crap!

Barry if you can try and be their when the car is assesed as insurance assesors are penny pinchers, also your input could push it over (write off).If you make plenty of noise during this process they may deem it as not viable in the long run, also pressure the repairer.I have had 15 years in this industry and found that those that make the most noise seem to get what the want.If i can be of anny assistance shoot me a PM happy to help.
Baz glad to hear that your girls are both ok and nothing serious happened to them.
