It has not got a four cylinder motor, has not got one transfer case and does not have one open diff ;).

For hunting and bush trips I drive a 1982 fj60 petrol/LPG landcruiser with a good old 3F motor. Best 4wd toyota ever produced IMHO.

Can't think of any other motor that would drive over 2000 kms with the rear oil seal blown, then after replace seal, good as gold, still driving it today with no work apart from standard service and maintenance.

For work, various Toyota 4wd fleet cars with one of them dedicated to my work out in the Desert. None of them inspire any love in me but they have never stopped on me and never let me down.

In town we have a Skoda 2007 1.8 TSI Wagon. Bought it since recently becoming a family man and have to say that it is a lot more fun to drive than I could have hoped for. Turbo 1.8 is the latest from VW, the same motor, drivetrain etc that graces the New Golf and Audi A4 without the pricetag. Very impressed with it.

For kicks I have a 1982 Toyota Supra XX, I know I'm too old for the hoon factor but I just love this little car. Trying to iron out a fueling problem at the moment, after doing a bit of work on it... When it goes its the best thing, when it does not I enjoy getting it to go again. I have supercharged motor to go in it soon with some interesting mods to boot  .

Me and my dad have been building a VL 5.7Ltr twin turbo drag car. My dad used to drag race in the old days so we had the opertunity to buy the VL as abit of a family affair. Still in the earily stages roll cage in, tubbed rear end, engine being built now so yeah. Good fun mate.

That VL sounds like a lot of fun. Nice to see you and your Dad chucking the spanners around the shed together!

Tried starting the supra today and found no spark from the coil...

Looks like I may have found the cause of a few problems... hopefully.

Start the diagnostics tomorrow.

Hi chuditch...it may be from the blue flame..i believe its from a us built motor...i bought it of ebay..the seller hadnt modified one..but he supplied the details and i did it myself...just have to file off an alloy stopper and shorten the drive shaft 1/4"..then pack the retaining bracket...quick and easy...the power increase is enourmous...im up 1 1/2 gears over the mountain range...or its as good with a trailer load of wood now as it was without a trailer before...but its got a 320 holley with a custom pre plenum and extractors with 2 1/2" open system..all home made...ill find his details and get back to you

My old paddock basher is a Datsun 4WD, its got over 400 000 on the clock but we picked it up for a load of firewood. Unregistered so I can only use it on the farm (too young for a license anyway) but its great for hunting, fencing and feeding stock. A while ago I put a tree branch through the canopy side window but that just means I don't have to open the back anymore (i chuck my gear in through the side);)
Maybe when I get my license I'll get it registered, it runs great just looks a bit rough.

Wareagle, I just returned from a trip up top in a spanking new one of those V8 cruisers, they are absolute weapons. Thing just ate everything alive. Has me wanting to trade in old Jezzabell for a new truck.

Well my old Jezza.
1990 Troopy, BF's, ironman underneath (about to go to Raw4x4), duals, solar, 40lt engel, full boxing, 2 way, polk audio, Warn Winch, 240xgt's, loads of stuff to stay out bush, for as long as possible.

I had been a city dweller or hoon of sorts my whole life, bowhunting and my troopy have changed my life.

I dislike you intensely at the moment Jase LOL. I love the old grey ghosts, they are a real 4x4 and are so open to restoration or modding it is not funny. There was one made by an engineer I think his name was Dobbin. It was lifted and then ontop of that it had a hydraulic lift kit like an LSD inspired low rider but in reverse. With the flick of a switch it could be lifted another metre or so, level out on the steep stuff and was just an awesome old truck. When it hit tough truck the first year it blew people away!

Its got a spot of rust the size of a five cent piece on the roof & a tear in the seat but appart from that she is a beaut. This weekend im going to pull the wood paneling off the tray then sand & lacker it, give the radiator a flush & hey presto new truck!!

Mate that is awesome, they look treat with the wood trays on them. Other trucks may get you there fast and in comfort but the old 45 will get you there in style.
