Hello to all,
I am relocating to Port Hedland WA from Oklahoma. Its going to be a big change for me. Just wondering if anyone can give me a heads up on rules and regs. for my archery equipment? I dont want to violate any laws right off the go.
Also looks like I will have some good fishing around there, but what kind of hunting can I expect?

Thanks for any info. I hope to get to know alot of you, and to enjoy your great country. Maybe someday some of you can take a trip back to the states with me to chase a few Whitetails. My state has a herd of about 850,000 and it's still growing.

Thanks, Butch

Butch,
I came to Cairns Qld from Upstate N.Y almost 4 years ago (WOW doesnt seem that long) and had NO trouble with my archery gear at all. I didnt bring any broadheads. I also had a note from customs in Australia saying it wasnt a problem bringing in my archery stuff, but no one even asked for it. I just kept it all in my locked case. If you want any more info or have any more questions just pm me and I will try to help ya out.

Gday Butch,
I lived in Karratha for several years which is just south/west of Port Hedland and have been travelling along most of the WA and NT coast all my life camping, fishing, hunting and unfortunatly working.
I know you will enjoy the fishing it is awsome and definatly some of the best you are likely encounter along the australian coast.
As for the hunting well there isn't much quality hunting close bye, if you travel north you will find feral pigs(hogs) along the DeGrey river system which is your best bet close to port hedland and further north into the kimberly river systems and if you travel south to exmouth and carnarvon you will find big mobs of feral goats. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your stay in lovely Port Hedland

Thanks for all the info. I should be arriving sometime around the 15th of Oct.
Until then I am going to chase a few deer around home before I leave.

Keep em sharp, and shoot straight!
