hunt or be hunted

Last night i added an extra pin to my sight to make it a 5pin so i could shoot out to 50m. All day at school i just wanted to come home and shoot. Finally hometime hit and it was a long awaited bus ride home.
After filling the quiver with supreme tipped arrows I headed up the back paddock to re-sight in my bow for the new pin.
Fist group from 20m was terrible, was shocked to see the arrows spread across the target. a couple of adjustments made and they all came together. Now back to 30m. few shots all looking good, out to 40m. all good out to 50m. arrows hit about 1 foot low, one quick adjustment and I nailed the target dead centre, bit of plastic the size of a 20cent coin!
I was very happy with that so I went home and jumped on the computer and came on this forum.......looked at all the new posts and noticed that the sun was glaring through the window. Time to go huntin.
I made my way to the plataue with the light fading.
Rabbits could be seen dotted about the place from a great distance. their numbers really are great at this place.
With an arrow on the string I was ready for some action!
First shot was just too close with the kitten getting down its hole with a bare patch on its back. Next shot was at a good bunny from 30m, arrow hit home but didnt connect?, ohwell still a good shot nonetheless.
I then walked around the hill to one of my favourite spots. I dont know how many rabbits I have shot doing this but What I do is crouch down and keep low behind a small bank, draw and slowly raise up hoping to shoot at the bunnys on the other side. Tonight was no different and I lined up a kitten on a very steep 10m downhill shot. I placed the top pin a little low and hit the release, a nice cracking sound spooked off any other rabbits leaving the victim of my bow lying lifeless outside its hole. I went down and set up the camera for some photos, then took the meat for the ferrets. It was getting dark so I put in another quick stalk on yet another kitten but all I managed to do was bust my arrow on a rock, another one down.

Quite a good time spent out on the bunnies again.
Thanks for looking
Dan.
