Hahaha mate i did the same thing last time i went hunting. i was moving forward about to step on this king brown and i saw it and tried jumping back but only managed to jump in the air and land on the same spot again. My mates thought it was funny but i wasnt real happy about it. This was the first live king brown i have seen we get heaps of brown snakes but this thing was HUGE like nearly as thick as your wrist, would have been 5-6 foot longand dark brown/black . Lucky he took off when i did my little dance.

Hey yeah i got another snake one! When i was hunting with questions the other week i was walking allong through the grass carrying a goat head over my shoulders and looking down at the ground and noticed somthing slithering allong in the grass. it was only after i had stepped on it that it clicked that it was a snake and i got the hell outa there! Lucky he was only about about a foot and a half long and he diddnt bite me! Still i think i'll let someone else walk first next time! haha

I've done the walk on air thing with logs and snakes :D Nowadays, in the summer, when the logs not wet and slippery, I step onto the log first and look before stepping off it. :D

In wet weather I go around the logs. Snakes like to get out of the wind, sun themselves and have escape cover by lying along logs, it's what they do.

Walking behind your mate doesnt work, as he kicks it into motion and then you arrive just when its becoming annoyed

tim if you walk at back to get away from the snakes you may chang your mind because it is proven that the therd person gets bitten more times then the first second or forth person in a line

heya guys... just before christmas i was in the north western corner of nsw with a couple of mates. we were stalking a mob of goats. i was so preoccupied with tracking the mob that i completely missed the 2-3 metre brown snake that i nearly trod on. and what scared me the most was it stood its ground for about a minute...

I do most of my hunting in bare feet and I was sneaking along a pad looking for deer a couple of weeks ago when I almost trod on a good size brown. He moved off a few metres and just sat there. I looked around for a stick to chuck at him to get him moving and when I looked back I couldn’t see him. I don’t mind them when I know where they are, but when I don’t it gives me the willies.

i was on a trip in far north queensland up in the cape york paninsula on a motorbike safari. we stopped at a fresh water river for the night. in the avo we all stripped off and had a nice swim cus no crocs had ever been reported. later at night after dinner, we were walking back to the swags and one of the guys spotted a set of eyes in the water about 2 hours before we had swum in it. no crocs my but
