fox whistling

does anyone out there know what to do if a fox won't respond to a whistle but you can see him? and any other tips for fox whistling and would a field point with a adder head be alright for foxes.

can the foxy see you? smell you? or where you have been?......

have you ever heard a rabbit squeal when a ferret has latched onto it?.. that's the sort of sound you should try for when fox whistling..... and make sure you watch all around you.... they can easily sneak up on your blind side :D

shoot my first bunny on sunday from 30m got him in the kidneys and ran him down by foot when i picked him up he started squelling it was realy weird i used tusker spirit and game getter 2 arrows

G'day fellas..
Just thaught id put my two bobs worth in..
I have found that sometimes the fox is over cautious and wont come in any closer whilst whistleing them.But as Coach mentioned...try the squeeking noise with your mouth,as well as...with using my hand placed against my lips...like your kissing your hand,and this makes a similiar noise ..
just keep your movements ever so slow and very subtle...

I agree with coach on this one, if your using a button whistle then try for the smootch with you mouth, I havent had too many foxes resist the smootch that were in earshot.

Failing that, back off the whistling and see what he does, if he takes off at the rate of knots then he probably wasnt going to come in anyway, if he just pokes of then you have a chance to stalk him or move to a slightly different location and try whistling at him again.
