Hey on my way home from cutting box thorns at our other block i saw a rabbit on the side of the road under a bush so i pulled up 20m away managed to get my bow release aide and arrow tipped with a judo out and nail him in the head. I then thought i would do a how to explaining how i skin my rabbits for the pot.

first:
I pinch the skin half way allong its back and cut it to make a hole big enough to fit your fingers in.

You then put a couple fingers in of both hands and pull oposite ways to each other.

This should make the skin peel right off the back end of the rabbit and it will go as far as the rabbits head on the front.

You then cut the head off.

Then i grab hold of the tail and cut a V to get rid of the tail.

I then move to the back legs. While bending the back legs you cut in at the knee and then slide the knife allong the leg a bit to get as much meat as possible.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b255/Mackadebowhunter/rabbit7.jpg

For the front legs you snap the bone in them between the rist and the knee. you then simply cut through.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b255/Mackadebowhunter/rabbit8.jpg

You are then upto gutting the animal. You hold it as shown in the picture and then slide the knife with blade facing towards you allong its belly being really careful not to cut the intestines. After the cut is made simply take the guts out.

Here is the finished rabbit just neads a clean.

I hope this is helpful to anyone and i hope i explained it so its understandable.

No worries fellas if only one person learnt somthing it was worth it. Bob there is no right and wrong way just whatever works i find this to be the quickest but if you want the skin not just the meat you have to do it like a goat/fox. Hood he is in the freezer atm but when i get another couple they will be in a stew. Dont go much on the rabbit roats always to dry. Love the meat if it is in somthing tho.
