Has anyone else seen the news story on a big cat taken near Melbourne by a rifle shooter, looks like a Puma. The only trophy he took was the tail, he said he head shot it and there wasn't enough left of the head to take as a trophy, he then through the carcas in the river. Personly I recon the skin would have been a trophy worthy of braggin about, all a bit sus. What do you think????

Just have a look how he has taken the photo, he is standing well back from the cat, and the cat is a bit blurry, looks and sounds a bit SUSS to me.

Ive seen footage of him with the tail and it looks bloody real, as for the photo, it could have been a depth perception issue making it look larger that it is. He says he shot it, carried the carcass back to camp then chopped off the tail and threw the rest in the river.... He says he's hunted the area for 30+ years and has never heard of the big cat myth...

Now there's a few probs with his story.

A) Anybody who hunts knows not to leave dead animals near a water source , least of all to throw a dead animal into a river.

B) I think anybody who hunts in Australia has heard the myth, and i find it hard someone who has hunted 30 years hasn't.

But the tail looked real to me and bloody long too, i could never imagine any feral cat growing a tail that long and thick...
Samples are getting D.N.A tested and will have results in around 3 weeks.

I wonder...

Cheers, Cam
