wondering what size outback hunter to get
either the 125 grain, same as my feild point weight, with 1.4 mm blade
or
the 140 grain with 1.6 mm blade

id like some feed back
is there much difference in the strength between the different blade thicknesses?
and will 140 grain be ok with my 60# compound on 65/80 ct white tails

Mate I use the 125 grain hunters and I am very impressed with them.I have one that has put down 4 goats,3 pigs and 4 rabbits so far and all I have done is clean and resharpen it after each time it has been used.

My hunting mate uses the 125 grain supreme and he shoots 68lb with a 29.5" draw and has taken a few goats with them and is also pleased with the results.

I use goldtips 55/75 at 27.5" draw and 57lbs and reckon I will keep on buying the 125 grain hunter.

I havn't tried the hunters yet but am very pleased with the 160 supremes they shoot great from my recurve and I have taken quite a few boars with them. I guess if you want roughly the same point of impact as your field points go for the 125 though I don't think u will notice any differance between the 125 and 140 over normal hunting distances say 15-20mt, it might start showing though if you are taking longer shots IMO! The wider cut of the 140 is obviously gunna do more damage but correct shot placement (say double lung shot) and good penertration(pass through  )will bring down your quarry humanely no matter what broad head you use( as long as it is razor sharp  ).

How much difference in accuracy do you think they are Coach.I can't find any between my 125gn field tip to the broadhead out to 30 metres, that is the hunters.

My hunting mate reckons the supremes group better barebow to,but I have 3 dozen hunters so will be using them up first before I try the supremes. No matter which they are good value for money in my opinion.

It probably won't make any difference to me because 30 metres is a long shot for me when hunting.I like being at least within 25 metres at the most, preferably under 20.

I shoot 4" vanes with a helical fletch and I can put 4 arrows inside 2-3 inches in my broadhead target out to 25 metres consistently so I am happy. :)

But once my supply gets down a bit I will try some 125 grain supremes. 8)

Coach,
Do you do much/any tuning to get your broadheads to group like field points?
I just put some new stuff on my bow, and its shooting really well. But not tuned.Last time I shot broadheads, it was CRAP. Now I'm shooting better, I was wondering.

Thanks,
Mark
