Wouldn't have a problem with hunting one with a bow, they are feral and from guys I have spoken to are damn hard to stalk.
Yeah i would love to tackle one and i plan to. I think getting close would be a big challenge but the spot to hit on one would be massive compared to a goat or even a rabbit.

I forgot to add, if the chance came up I would definitly drill one (or at least have a go).
In a heart beat! 8)
See ya Pete.
i would only if i had a knife to make my hunt humaine
How would having a knife make it any more humane? You shouldnt need your knife unless you plan to butcher your animal?? Just my opinion.

if your shot does not kill out right you can slit its throt :D
Yes but i rekon another arrow in the animal would do a better job than trying to cut a camels throat?? Unless you had a good 10" knife i only carry a 4 inch one.
Macka
Given the chance I would have a crack at one.
To get close to a camel with a knife would mean very fast legs to keep up with it and very very long arms to reach :!: :D

Mate if it could stand up and see you,you would want to be able to run cause I wouldn't like a wounded camel chewing on me or stomping me with those hooves.

Sorry to sidetrack the thread, but can any of you edit or delete your posts here? Have a look in the top right corner of your post to see if you can or not.... for some reason i can edit and delete my posts in other threads, just not here :? :?: :?: ... again sorry to hijack ...
Cheers, Cam
No I canÃ*t either, I told Luke 2 weeks ago, and well you knowÖÖblah blah blah!
See ya Pete.
Taste's like camel mate  I can't say I wouldn't shoot one as have already bowled a couple over and a bull camel protecting his harem can be a pretty nasty character!

I had camel 9yrs ago but can't really remember what it was like, all I remember was that I ate it all so it couldn't have been to bad unless my taste buds were all dead.

8) I found out that camel was similar to beef, taste & texture.
It's low in fat and cholesterol, high in protein. Has the tick from the National Heart Foundation. The numbers of camels in Australia are in the range of 1 million and if not controlled, there coud be 2 camels to every person here by 2053.
Heres a recipe for those who would like to try camel:
Camel Strew
3 medium size camels
1 ton of salt
1 ton of pepper
500 bushels of carrots
500 bushels of potatoes
300 sprigs of parsley
2 small rabbits
1. Find 3 medium size camels & cut them into small cubic bite size pieces.
2. Cut vegies into cubes.
3. Put all meat in one large pot & cover with 200 litres of gravy.
4. Shovel in the salt & pepper plus a dash of curry to taste.
5. Simmer for 3 1/2 weeks.
6. When meat is tender add all the vegies.
7. Simmer slowly for another 2 weeks.
8. Garnish with parsley.
9. Will serve 3000 people.
If more are expected then add the 2 rabbits.......... lol ....Crow 8) 8)
LMAO @ Crow you funny bugger
???is it best served with white or red wine or jsut the amber ale????

8) The traditional way would be Red meat - Red wine. But I think if it's chilled and plentiful any will do..... although 5 1/2 weeks of waiting for it to be cooked, you could consume quite a bit .......Crow 8) 8)

Hmm.. The idea of hunting camel is sounding better and better!!!
Heaps of meat stewing in a pot.. The alcohol flowing... Where do i sign up!?
Crow? Organise a camel party.. Similar to a tupperware party, but this is where we all eat camel and get drunk off really cheap wine (Or expensive for those who can afford it)... Or even just a couple of cans of cougars!! :P
Who's in!? lol
You wouldn't happen to find a camel in the centre of Sydney would you? :P
Ahh.. I'll do it one day!! I assure you!!
