i went out bow fishing in the locol creek to day and got a nice big carp from about 5m so here are the pics of him :D

Is it really thats a shame, so where can we bow fish in NSW? or does that mean its pretty much illigal

Thats the thing that sucks here, is you can bow fish for carp but your not allowed to shoot any other spiecies of fish/shark/ray at all :(

as far as i know, bowfishing is classed as a form of spearfishing and is subject to the same rules/regulations. so technically it would be illegal in most inland waterways (carp included)and some specified areas in the ocean also such as near jetties, piers and rivermouths. its just another example of the lawmakers having f#%&all understanding of the real situation at hand.

bowfishing is classed as spear fishing and can only be done in open water and not in any fresh water for any reason :D

if the fisheries inspector did come along and see you were only nailing carp,then surely he would be leanient and give you a warning..?

Harry the laws in Queensland are the same as NSW you carnt do it in fresh water and only in open salt water and if you do plan on doing it in fresh water dont get cort :D
