View Full Version : BOW CASES
Gaday fella's...whats everyone use for a bow case???At the moment i use soft cases which do protect the bows but when the ute is packed full of gear and going off road you still have to be carefull where you put them.
Regards...Sparra
I use a plano bow case which is good for travelling, airline approved but don't keep broadheads on the arrows as you may cut your strings (not happend to me). After putting my bow on a plane to Qld when i opened my case all the arrows had been dislodged from their holders
I have a MTM hard case for my curve and a padded soft case for my compound.
I will be getting a hard case for the compound soon as I found that when I went to NZ I had to take the bow down and put it in my suit case. And through the travels 3 of my fibre optic pins got broken.
I had all my arrows in the MTM case had 30 arows in one side of it with BH on and had no problems with them fallingout.

i have a plno case and my arrows travel in a piece of 100mm conduit with a screw cap on the end. i shove a bit of foam in to fill any void and they have travelled in planes and in utes and never had any damage

I use a soft case and keep my arrows in the quiver (8 arrow).
Haven't had an opportunity to travel commercially with my bow yet, if that were to happen I would buy a hard case with arrow storage.

I have a plano hard body case as well, picked it up on sale for $20 when i was in the states, i've given it a flogging and it protects the bow well and i don't have to take off the sight or stabiliser.

i use an old dooner/quilt . Wrap my bow in it, then it fits in a big thick heavy jacket ( great for colder weather) .. then when we make camp i unwrap my bow, empty a beer carton and stuff my quilt in it and it makes a great target butt :D
Probably not the safest but so far so good ( 8 years with no damage) 8)

I was at the pub the other night. I was checking out the music gear setup on the stage. I saw an electric guitar case (the square type) and thought it might make a good bow case. Just have to re-fit the guts to suit.
Has anyone made thier own or modified something to suit?
I bloke at my club has converted an old saxaphone case to fit his curve and heaps of other bits and bods in it.

Thats a great idea Hood...the way sax players are getting out of the music industry there should be a flood of cases on the market soon!!!!

I have a Contico, airline approved (brpught my bows in it from the States). I keep my arrows in the 10 arrow quiver on the bow. The wife has a Plano. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templates/pod/horizontal-pod.jsp?_DARGS=/cabelas/en/common/catalog/pod-link.jsp_A&_DAV=MainCatcat21424&rid=&indexId=cat20017&navAction=push&navCount=2&parentType=index&parentId=cat20017&id=0020287

I use the soft cases as I have found if 3 hunters go away in the dualcab and they all have hard bow cases there is not much room for anything else but if I was to send a bow on transport then a hard case would have to be the go.
Cheers KIM
