Beaman Black Maxs. I dont know if its the drop away rest, or the arrows, but I shot my P.B. last week at the club, with them.$120 Dzn.
I've been shooting GT's for the last 6 months or so, and I reckon they vary in their performance. They seem to "wear out" if thats possible.

I use Carbon Tech Rhinos. And the price doesnÃ*t matter as no has them anyway you have to order from the states to get them!

See ya Pete.

Gold Tip Hunters 75/95 and trying the Carbon Tech Whitetails ATM.

Both excellent arrows, but I will probable change to the Carbon Tech Whitetails as they are a little more consistant.

Never had a problem when hunting with the GTs.

Goldtip 55/75 for hunting and target,no problems and have been using them since 1996.

Do like the Whitetails and have ordered a dozen off Kimall for target shooting.

Guys

This may seem like a dumb question, but why carbons? What are the advantages and why do some prefer white tails over carbon tech's or gold tips. There must be a reason why guys have settled for particular brands. I'd be interested to hear. I'm still shooting aluminium, so would like to know why change?

Regards

Matt

Hi Matt the major diff with carbons is how much faster and flatter they fly out of your bow.The other major advantage is with the better known brands they are very tuff with most arrows being able to be used on more than one animal before they are lost or broken.I have been told by some that the top end aluminium arrows are also tuffer than their cheaper versions but most alum. arrows and bent to some degree after hitting the ground or other objects. As for which brand is best the reason people have fav. brands is just because that is what they have used and they have worked so thats what they stick with(if it works dont mess with it).Having said that any of the major brand carbons are good gear and you would not go wrong with any choice. If however you go for the CHEAP carbons yu see for sale in some of the gun shops then you may still get more breakage than you should. Its all about what you want the arrow to do,if you are a hunting shaft and you shoot at 20mts or less then yoou dont need the top of the range carbons but if you shoot the same settup at your local club and want good scores then you may want a shaft with finer tolerances which are a bit more accurate.
Cheers KIM

As I posted earlier i have been using whitetails and thought they were great. Got 2 doz recently and 4 were rejected because of visual faults(no probs as the supplier will replace). When making up some arrows two more cracked when I was inserting the nock, and a third broke on the weekend after a collision with a gum tree.
My previous arrows have slammed into many trees rocks and whatever and the only ones to break were rolled on by pigs.
I hope that I got a bad batch and not a downgrade in quality control from Carbon Tech.
