View Full Version : Nap 4000 drop down question?
I have a rest as above and occasionally the cable that lifts the rest causes arrow contact.
I heard of people tying the rest to their cables instead, has anyone tried this and if so, how?
thanks

Wellsy,
I have tied mine to the down bus cable before on a QT2000 which has the same operation.
What type of bow do you have?
On one of my TEC bows I tied the raising cable to the TEC bar with a rubber band to keep the cable out of the way of the fletchings.
You may have to replace the steel coated cable on the rest with a cord and, depending on the diameter of the cord, drill the existing hole to take a larger cable.
Go to the local fishing shop and get some fishing braid, this worked well for me.
When you do tie it in to the down buss cable, use a rubber band tied to the valley of the draw cord and below the tie-in on the buss cable to give even greater clearance.
Thanks Warlock,
I shoot a Martin Jag.
Wonder if you have a pic of your setup.

Mate, I had that setup on the '01 Ultratec.
I will have a look through the pic archives and see if I still have a pic.
This pic is with a GKF drop-away, but you can see how I tied it into the down buss cable, on the '01 TEC, and attached the rubber band.

I do a lot of bow tuning and setting up of bows for 3D shooters,I have set up a lot of these rests, what I use is a small plate with a hole in either end, then a length of 2ml. cord with a small spring in the middle, serve one end to the buss cable, then poke the other end through the hole in the plate, draw the bow then get someone to pull the cord until the launcher is up, and the spring is stretched a little, then mark the cord with a texter, let down tie the cord at the mark , cut and burn the end. wella :D
