This isn't really Bowhunting but i thought i would share my dads catch on the w/e its the biggest eagle ray i have ever seen. We were fishing for snapper down here in spencer gulf SA and he jumped on his hook, took 45 mins 2 get in.

That's a big eagle ray allright, I don't think I have ever seen one that big...Glenn...
If anyone else has a photo of one bigger, or around the same size post it! because i am interested to know how big they grow.
thanx Macka :D
While in NZ bowfishing for rays we say quite a few eagle rays but no where near that size. they were all about half the size off that one.

Again slightly off topic but a friend of mine took these photos of spotted eagle rays while scuba diving of Oahu in Hawaii in January. I reckon they are pretty good. :)

i see quite a few eagle rays when spearfishing in port phillip bay. they are all about the same size as your dads, but ive seen a couple that i think would be a whisker bigger than that. they scare me to death at first cause they just jump up out of the weed beds right in front of you. but they are a beautiful animal to swim with. they seem to be very shy, but they let you swim within about 2 - 3 metres of them.

Stingrays are fair game! + There are hundreds of them up here and grate fun to catch I release most of them but to get a good photo of this one it wasn«ÉŸt possible to let it go.

Well sorry if you didn«ÉŸt like the photo! Looks like I might have taken it the wrong way then... I don«ÉŸt like getting talked down to because that«ÉŸs how it came across to me and you would have to admit you are a bit of a **** stirrer...lol
No hard feelings
Macka
just dont like seeing animals killed for the sake of a brag photo!
Read it again Coach it wasn't just killed for the brag, it is going to be used for fishing bait to get the more tasty eating sea dwellers.
