A thread on OZBOW re two piece or t/d arrows, re has anybody tried / heard of 'em

Well I made one....

Took a 29" 55/75 carbon, cut it at 15 3/4" from the nock end, glued an insert into this end, pulled the guts out of a screw in rubber blunt (slightly longer than a B/H adapter) machined it down to fit inside the other piece of the arrow, glued it in... screwed the two pieces together, attached a 125grn point.

Must be honest, first coupla shots were with the 72# bow @ about half draw, then shot the arrow a dozen times @ full draw, flew as good as it did in original condition :D

If I were to adopt this method I would prefer the sleeves to be longer than the 1 1/4" I got out of the threaded end, to give a bit more "purchase" to help keep the arrow straight (although it hasn't been effected adversely up to this point) :)

I did this out of personal interest, I am not advocating or suggesting that anyone should do this, or any variation of what I have done, if they do, they do so at their own risk
