Lets see some trad harvested game and trad pics all together.

This is a Western Australian billy goat that I took with a 38# Black Swan Special recurve. And a Custom crested port orford sharf.

Think this was my first traditional fox. Whistled him in with tin whistle. 50# true aim recurve.

Thanks Coach, but mind you though if I had a dollar for every hour I spent making selfbows I would probably be able to buy myself a nice custom bow...Glenn...

Ed, the bows are inspired by the Holmegaard bow, I did change some measurements to suit the timber I was using and the draw weight I wanted. I like the design a lot and it suits a lot of Australian timber species...Glenn...

Glenn I have to agree with you - the shape looks real good. I hope to work up to trying such a shape myself.

Ed the grey ironbark bow is 66" long and it is is half sapwood and half heartwood. The bow has only ever taken 10 mm of string follow, it's been one my favorite selfbows. I made the bow out of a discarded flitch I found in a paddock sleeper cutters had left behind...Glenn...

10mm only, did you even notice it? That is great resilience in the wood. I think I will have to hunt down some of that wood for a bow mighty soon!
