G'day ,
Anyone have an opinion on tied- in nock points. Ya know , the ones you tie with ten knots each?
I've got one above and one below my nock. With a D-Loop tied each side of them.
How would just the D-Loop work, without tied- in nock points?I dont want to use the brass nock sets.
Any suggestions?
Thanks ,
Mark
Your loop should work without nock points on the string but if it slips a little each way it makes it difficult to know. Also I think it will be easier to put a loop on with the reference point of a nock...

Yeah,
that makes sense. If it moved it'd be hard to spot.
What about if you put the tied nocks on the outside of the loop knots.Would that work?Maybe the loop would close up too much?
I'm trying to keep the weight down but also trying to keep the adjustability.
Thanks

I just use a loop,it seldom moves, I check it now and then with a bow square,I could never get used to tied on nocks as well as a loop.
I,ve used this system for 6yrs now with no problems.
On longer bows a loop alone is prob fine but on very short bows I have seen guys have trouble with arrow pinch as the loop moves in at full draw.
To prevent this is as simple as a knot either side of the arrow but inside the loop.I think you said somthing about 10 knots,no need for that just 2 or 3 knots either side of the string and it will be fine.To get around the tuning prob with nocking height once you have found level then if the string stretches a bit and your nocking point varies a bit you can move the rest up or down the little bit u need instead of disturbing the loop and knots.

I tend to set my rest with the arrow over the screw hole, and leave it,I adjust my nock height by rotating the loop. You can always check it by shooting through paper.

Ahhh,
Thats what I was after.
I think what I'll do is try it without the knots and just a loop. Then with the knots ( 2 or 3) and see how it goes.
Thanks. Your help is always appreciated.Mark
