Has anyone had any experience with this "turbo nock" system. I had a look in the US Archery website they are raving about it. Checked out the web site- certainly different.
On the surface it looks ugly - makes the arrow look real weird BUT apparently improves your accuracy as well as increasing your arrow velocity! :)

G'day,

Early last year I tried them All... Turbo nocks, Accu vanes, FOBs and the only ones I still have are the FOBs.

The Turbos were OK but I found I had to glue them into my shafts, and after a while they started to split my carbons.

The Accu vanes were a real pain in the butt to use special insert etc and were brittle and sometimes shattered when hitting harder than usual objects like a tree ?

Then came the FOBs ( Fletching Only Better) now these little suckers are great Infact I may just get back into using them again soon,
they flew Outback Supremes like darts !
Only real drawback is you must use a Drop Away rest !

I think that's it !
If you look in their Gallery you will find Luke with a few FOB shot critters !

But I haven't done much more after that As I came down crook for what seemed like an eternity and have only been back at the game 6 months or so!

Cheers

The problem i see with the "FOB"s would be that every passtrough shot you lose your nock and FOB.
One arrow one shot?

Wellsy,

I have not lost one as yet on a pass through, it marks the spot were the target was and the bloodtrail is easy to pick up from there.

( Opps not true I stuck one in a Camel and it did pop off but the Bull went off tap and I ran quite a ways before he expired it seemed like miles but was less I think ? :) now that is one scary critter to have runnin at ya Crapped the dacks that day  )

I haven't had time to prove better penetration as yet but by assumption a bare shaft would have to pass through easier than a fletched shaft !?
With the Turbo nocks I had a few arrows stop at the fletching instead of passing through effectively leaving the nock in the critter.

There are pros and cons with all of these gadgets, but the FOB to me is the only one you could rely on to do the same thing over and over again.
And I see now they have a Bright Orange Fob which should be allot easier to pick up off the ground than the Blue and Black ones I first hunted With.
I'm using 2" blazers at the moment and they work a treat I must say, but I kinda owe it to Paul Morris the inventor of the FOB to continue on with the FOB for two reasons he is a top bloke who would bend over backwards to help and listen to his customers, and secondly I truly believe the FOB is a winner.

I like the fact when I went hunting for a week I just grabbed bare cut to length shafts in a tube and a Bag of FOBs nocks inserts etc like you carry spares anyhow it was just so easy.

I posted out hundreds of free samples last year but I cant for the life of me remember who too except for Luke and maybe Woody ?

Cheers
