View Full Version : nocking point
I need a bit of help.
I think my nocking point is too high at full draw. Can I get some pointers from those in the know. I am shooting a Bowtech Allegiance 29in draw and gold key release, I also use a trophy taker shaky hunter drop away rest.
The arrow is not parallel to the power cable slide.

Looks like the pick up cord for the rest is too tight and might not be bringing the rest up fully.
From memory the nocking point should be 1/8" above center

The Binary cam system does have level nock travel and honestly I don't worry about what my nocking point looks like at full draw.
Here are some comparrison pictures
This is my wife shooting her Allegiance

And me shooting mine

Because of the style of rest I use I run a higher nocking point than Erika does which would account for the higher nocking point as full draw. This is only to clear the rest and avoing contact with my wide blade restany my thin X10 arrows.
However when it groups like this at 70m who cares?

Sell it, i sold mine ASAP!
sell the bow, why???
The only real problem with them is, there problem with the drop way rest tied into the downward cable bus, you have to make sure you have it so the rest comes to its full position at last 1 inch or less before it lets off, I found the best way to over come this problem was to put 2 full twists in the top cam cable to correct the timing problem, you will notice a slight increase in draw length and the let will return to 80% let off. You defiantly have make sure the cord from the drop way rest is not pulling excessively on the down bus cable otherwise you lose let off, and then the timing it slightly out.
Other than that make sure the cam lobes are in exact same position (Same distance) from the limbs face on both ends, and check to make sure that it is at the factory Axle to Axle spec and adjust cables and string and just use the hole in the cable slide to attach the drop way rest cord.
Other than that there well made, but they would have liked them to have a bit longer draw, and they draw like old mules, maybe the 06 models are better, still not enough draw length.
Hope this helps, I know this once the strings and found there final place and you get the timing of the setup that doesn’t affect timing they should nearly never change, until you need new string or cables.
Pete , have you sold yours already ? Did you lose much ?
Yep sold a week ago, and nah I didn’t lose much mate, only $200.
I was considering another but to tell you truth Darton didn’t want me to leave so to speak, so I’m not going to cut my nose of to spite my face.
