View Full Version : FORWARD OF CENTRE
when measuring forward of centre with a broadhead do you take the centre measurement halfway from the tip of the broadhead to the valley of the nock or from the rear of the broadhead to the valley of the nock :?:

F.O.C. I've always taken it from the rear, I'll think I'll rephrase that,I always measure it from the rear :D
Bear,
It's always been my understanding that the FOC measurement is based on total arrow length, from the very front of the broadhead tip to the very back of the nock.
It is one of the reasons that most broadheads with identical weights to field points have slightly different FOC's ( the broadys are longer) :D
On the Easton arrow selection program they have a diagram/program for working out FOC. It shows to measure it from the back of the broadhead.
cheers fella's, I was just curious as I thought the logical way was to measure total length as woody said, not that I bother with fine tuning forward of centre just as long as they shoot good like Brian said.

Coach,
Thats an interesting link, some good stuff there. As you have noticed, I think where the FOC is, regards field points compared to broadheads ( matched weights), is a factor to consider.
Its also one of the reasons why Supremes have a back set blade, to more closely match field point FOC's. I dont know if it helps, but they dont fly too horrible
