Thanks mate, that was very interesting indeed. He definately has a point. I believe that ASAT camo works in a similar way and 3D just adds to the effectiveness yet again.
You see a lot of dark mossy oak type patterns that really do present as a single dark outline at any distance. Even lighter a pattern such as advantage timber loses it's leafy patterns to the observer at around 20 meters.
I suppose when it's all said and done, some camo clothing and some fishing lures share something in common - they're designed to catch the purchaser, not the prey.

Very Very interesting, and i am thinking of buying a 3d suit, maybe the way to go.

Going by whaat i read on that site and what others have said here i would think the cheapest option would be the auscam desert whatever is is. Its a lighter back ground with brown lines etc, seems to really break up the outline.
