Post your luckiest/ unluckiest shots here. Ither on a target but or at a game animal.
My luckiest shot was when i first started out. I stalked up on a mob of goats and shot a 26" billy (2nd animal with the bow). He ran 20m and stood there so i had another shot at him but the shot went over his back and dissapeared over the ridge. The goat then ran over the ridge. I ran up there to see where he was and he was standing there with another goat. and get this both had arrows through their chests. The first billy then fell over and the other one ran into the creek and was dead before i got to him. The arrow i shot over the billy with must have gone over the ridge and centred up a billys chest that was feeding on the other side of the ridge. Talk about lucky!
And i think the stupidest shot/ unluckiest shot would have been about a month ago. My mates and i were stalking allong a ridge spread out about 20m apart walking north. I was the lowest and then eggs then brownie was on the top. As it turned out i ran right into a few goats that were back a bit from the bain mob. and in the main mob there was a good 30" goat. So i carefully stalked past about 5 nannies passing them by 3m and kept going i then looked up to see the arse end of a billy only 3m away on my only path through the scrub. I snuck in to about 1m away from him as he was facing the other way. he had about a 25" spread and i thought i might be able to take him out without the others taking off. so i drew back.. and he started to walk to my left. Still only 2m away and as i followed him in my peep as soon as the bush that he was behind dissapeared i shot and whack! right into a big malle branch about 4 inches wide. He just went all stiff legged and looked at me. We had a bit of a stareing comp and then he trotted off towards the other goats looking back at me thinking what the hell. I nocked an arrow but they were off. eggs did manage a 26"er out of that mob tho.
