View Full Version : member interviews
i think cams thread "so who are you anyway?" was a great idea, and it got me thinkin - i'd really like to see detailed interviews with members of the site, to get an even better idea of their character/story/hunting experience/history/profile/thoughts etc.etc. it could be a regular monthly/weekly/whatever feature, and i think it'd be of interest to most members.
i know admin/mods are bussy enough with the rest of their lives, and would happily write up the interviews and post the contents myself.
so - what do you fellas reckon? yay or nay?

I agree with Brian, it would be a great thing for the site.
Cheers Grunter
I think it's a great idea Brian, and personally would be happy for you to take it on board....what do other members of the Management Team think?
Luke :D
thanx for the support guys - just a coupla extra thoughts i had.
1: maybe its best to throw (more well-known/established) members names into a hat and i'll pull them out, in order to avoid any favouritism or what-have-you.
2: as i said - i'm more than happy to write up the questions etc. myself, do you reckon - monthly or fortnightly? weekly would be a bit too much at once i think.
3: as i i said - i think cams "get to know you" thread was a great idea, and this is intended to take it a step further. i dont intend to ask difficult or controversial questions, just good basic questions that will inform (not inflame) those who read them.

what does everyone think????
...Whenever you have time ;)
...Whoever, if people want to get petty about who you choose to "interview" then maybe they should get a life! :D
...Whatever you want to ask (within obvious reason) is fine by me 8)
Luke :P
the way i think it'd work best/easiest is if i draw out a member to interview, then write up the questions, then pm that member the questions then get them back when the member has finished answering them, then post it up in the "general section" with the thread title: "member interview - joe bloggs".
i cant think think of a more straight-forward way than that.
top idia Brian
maby ask people to pm you if thay are keen
Chris
ps thanks for that email it was spot on
good point mate - certainly possible that some may not want to be interviewed - no worries.

Pretty good idea Brian,
It is good to see someone prepared to put in an extra effort for the site.
Cheers Noel
thanx mate, however its not just me who loves this site and wants to make it all it can be. i think jindy set an excellent example with his knife donation - certainly an exemplary act of selflessness that we would do well to emulate, if even in a small way.
that withstanding - i'm not doing this for any kudos or browny points, and dont expect or hope for it. i just think its a good idea that would add to the sites quality.
so................... admin - do i have the go-ahead????

ok thanx guys - no "go ahead" from admin yet, but i'm assuming its ok so i'm gunna do it. someone is getting a pm tonight after i draw a name outa the hat.
i just decided that since some members are better known (having made more posts) - rather than draw names out, i'm gunna do a countdown, starting with the member who's made the most posts. there are simply too many names to fit into a hat in this case. i also feel that our more longevious and well known members should be the first to tell-all and i think thats what most members would like to hear about.
some may dissagree, but thats the way i'm doing it - end of story.
aaaaah crap, that means Coach's first ;)....
Don't let it go to ya head mate :D LOL....
Luke :P
yep coach is first - he has contributed the MOST posts to the site. i cant wait to get it going.
Can't wait for the read mate...
Luke :D

should the members interview have its own post heading ,possibly in the resource section, where we could read the interviews in order
and reply in the general discussion.
there may be quite a few stickies to come in general bowhunting
good work brian
A good idea mate. We'll discuss it and see what we come up with :D
Luke ;)
