Paper tuning is shooting an arrow through paper.

The tear marks through the paper show how the arrow is leaving the bow.

If the point of the arrow is directly in the middle of the vanes then this is called "bullet holes" and shows ideal arrow flight.

When the point is either above, below, left or right of the vane tear your bow setup (nocking point, rest position, limb tiller, cam timing or arrow spline) are out and can be adjusted to make "bullet holes".

Thanx Warlocke,
So i aim at my target butt at my usual distance of 20 metres, but i set up a sheet of paper about 3 metres from my bow.How do u guys do this?
Then i check for 'bullet holes' . If my arrows are fishtailing what do i adjust, but if they are traveling (tail end ) up and down what do i adjust?

I must admit to not paying enough attention to technical details about bow tuning but am trying to learn more and your help guys is greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Cam

I was told the best way to get your arrows flying wright was to paper tune. What other method would you suggest Coach???

Paper tuning should only be a starting point in the tuning process.

heck I dont even bother to shoot through paper any more.

I group tune and then creep tune (dual cam bow).

Go to Eastons web site and down load their tuning guide.

Thanks again Coach. I've just gone to using peep and sights and I'm getting good groups out to 30mtrs +, arrows touching each other. The only thing I was concerned about was the way the arrows impact sometimes dead straight other times left, right or high but still in the group. I'm not using a release aid so probably my release is not consistent.
