Well i went for a walk on our property before and managed to stalk in VERY close to some bunnies and take some ripper photo's. I had the bow but opted for the camera this time. Will post the pics when i load them on photobucket. i love seeing live game pics so please post any you have in this thread as the title states. It would be good to get a colection of livegame pics. I will keep adding to this when i take some hopfully better ones. I'm talking bird's kangaroo's snakes anything interesting guys.

I'd love to hear what everyone thinks to.

Still at the same spot but different rabbits. I saw about 11 or 12 just on the one warren and its only about 500m from my house!

I zoomed in so much you can even see the flea's on the rabbits ears! taken from about 3m.

Mozza
22-12-05, 08:31 AM
it was taken from about 80 meters
in the photo there is a stag of about 26 inches but this is just part of the mob, there was about 18 deer, i will see if i can find the pics but i lost a lot of my pictures when my computer crashed.

Mozza

went for a short drive tonite. went for a wlak with the bow and saw a few more bunnies. took some pics and nailed a couple young ones.. outbacks nearly cut them in half though! Thought some of you might find this interesting i saw about 5 white rabbits out of about 30 i saw. Couldnt bring myself to shoot them they are just soo cute.

Okay - gotta ask you folks.

I've watched sheep getting done in. Done the whole grabbin it in the paddock to hanging, gutting, skinning.

But.....

How DO you shoot those bunnies? I'm yet to draw the bow and sight up an animal. I dont think goats would bother me but as Macka said rabbits (espesh white ones) 'soo cute'. So do tell me what the secret is?

Cheers

Peter,

We watched these two for about 40 minutes, the young one was spooky right from the start. The big fella was in a wallow on the edge of the plain and we were sneaking around to him but as usual the the other ones uneasiness caught on and they stood out in the open for 15 minutes or so before walking off into the scrub behind them.

I did get into 22 mtrs of a nice bull in a patch of paperbarks (no pics, much too busy doing everything else right) He had no idea I was there but I could not get a clean shot window, after 10 minutes the wind (I didn't even know there was one  ) gave me up and he bolted.

Maybe next time.

Cheers Noel

Last year I found myself about 25 metres from a fella doing exactly that, he was rubbing his eye on the overhanging branch.

Dave can you tell me if the game gets spooked by the flash at night or do you turn it off.

Thanks

Here ya go Piggy,

In the first photo you could make this guy out just....a dark shape and eyes

2nd photo...20 seconds later

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/DavidMeredith/Nightshot.jpg

3rd photo... 20 seconds after that.

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/DavidMeredith/Nightshot1.jpg

or even this, bet you'd like to know he is around...

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/DavidMeredith/Nightshot2.jpg

It doesn't seem to affect animals that much :D , if anything the flash just shows the scum of the earth where your camera is, so they can pinch it http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/DavidMeredith/rant.gif

Piggy
26-12-05, 09:33 PM
Mate I take it some prick stole your camera

Dave
26-12-05, 09:36 PM
Nope...not yet

He would have to walk too far into the bush to find it :D

But one day it could happen. :(

Piggy

Thanks Mate, I have borrowed one and was concerned it might upset them but obviously not.

Dave
26-12-05, 09:55 PM
Good luck with it but I must warn you the bloody things are addictive :D. You get a couple of photos and you are straight back out there setting it up again. Or worse...you get in the bush and cant decide where to put it cos one spot looks better than the last one :?
