Well i have finally taken a deer :D :D :D after about 90 trips out . I was walking back when i saw a fallow spiker come out of the scrub about 80 meters in front of me, i snuck in to 45 meters and took a quartering away shot hitting him behind the shoulder and exiting in front of the opposite leg. He only went for about 5 seconds before dropping. I am stoked :D 8) http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y3/amozza/DSC_0094.jpg

Well-done mate! That«ÉŸs a beautiful deer there. I almost got my first fallow on the weekend I stalked into 35m but then my mates dad rang him and he had forgotten to put his phone on silent. I drew and stepped out from behind the tree but the game was up and he ran  He was a nice stag to.

Be proud of your trophy.

They are an extremely wary animal with humans as their primary predator.

Their senses are honed to human behavior, developed over thousands of years of a hunter/prey relationship.

Well done

Thanks guys, hood i have kept the skin for tanning, it was salted down last night, the deer is hanging in a cool room until I can butcher it and although small (they are as good to me as a 200 point one at the moment) i'm going to mount the spikes on a sheild :D they are such a beautiful animal

Well done mate good going. Some thing I've learnt over the years and that was really refreshed on my last trip was the hard they are and the more time and chances that you don't succeed the more the animal holds a value and bond to the hunter. The beautiful thing that is bowhunting. We'd have a few hundred kgs of venison between us
