I just went and was shooting at set distances today to practice my form and had a problem with my groups at 30m. But the weird thing was that at 40m the arrows were some of the best groups i have shot and the same at 20 all arrows touching. My 30m group would sometimes be 6 inches apart has anyone else ever had this?

jason, i had the same problem when i was shooting compound. i couldn't figure it out. perfect 20 yard groups, good 40 yard, and terrible 30 yard.
i cant help you here though, cause before i figured out what the cause was i got fed up and traded for a crossbow. now i know thats not always the solution, but i just thought id say your not the only one who's experienced this problem.

Went back at 5.00am this morning and shot 30m perfect buggered if i know what was going on. Tack i shoot a 68# single cam pse 55/75 GT 29 inch long and a whisker biscuit rest. and a release aid. Coach i checked centre shot and was perfect maybe there was just a votex at the 30m peg

Jason

all I can say is try and do it again tomorrow morning and if you do then it was just you, if you had been practicing for a bit your arms probably were tried and the 30 m target is one where you couldn't hold still on.

if any thing was out it would show up on your 40m group but if all is ok then you concentrait more at 40 to hold the sight picture before release

I like to practice out to 40 just shooting at a dot helps fine tune form because any error will show at a longer range

let us know how you go

coach get you ESP checked I think its out

i just screw in a long stabaliser and sight off that has worked for 10 years. I took my whisker biscuit off today and stuffed around with my prong rest and all was fine again. stuck the biscuit back on and still shot good groups i just could not figure out why at a shorter distance i was not grouping better.
what is the best way to get you centre shot???

and also i have been getting a sore arm from all this shooting is there anything i can do about it

a quick way to set the centre shot is to place an arrow on the rest and then hold a shaft against the riser as close to the rest placement hole as possible on the inside of the bow.adjust the rest so the arrow on the rest is parallel to the shaft being held onto the riser.this normally takes less than 1 minute to do and is very accurate. :D

Try two allen keys, one in each limb bolt.

Stretch a long rubber band over the keys, then nock an arrow and place between the rubber band strands then move the rest untill the arrow is dead centre between the strands.

Warlocke

that will only work if your cam/wheel are in line with your limb bolts

buy or make up a centre gauge
