G'day,

Has anyone got any suggestions on which software and which mapping CD's would be the best to get, for use with a GPS and a laptop.

Theirs about 6 different types of software ,ranging from free to $0000's. And different mapping types as well.

I dont know which would be the most suitable,I've never used this system either.

Thanks,
Mark

NED mate

can you drive a map and compass

if you learn to read the lay of the land and have a good topo map and compass a GPS will just confirm where you think you are.

other wise all the different systems have their pro's & con's

www.oziexplorer.com has the best software going, it is Australian, it is a good price and it has great functionality. I use it to make my own maps and to keep records of the things I see in my travels.

Yeah, thats what I am trying to figure out, if Ozi. is the best one, or one of the others.
I like the idea of making my own maps.
I'm not confident with using a compass and map to get me out .I've tried before............
