I was wondering there used to be a thread on the fuel prices in different areas, before the site was lost the last time..
In my area gas is going for 2.15 USD per gallon that is up about .25 in the past month..
Diesel is 2.25 USD per gallon..
Yeh mate don't know whats going on here either. Diesel has just hit $1.30 ltr here at Walcha, never been so high!
It'll only be going up. It might fluctuate a couple of cents every week, but the trend will keep on rising above the GPI. They reckon the price per barrel of crude will double by 2007!
I wonder if you can get an H-Cell electric ATV? I might have to look at buying a horse... I'm serious!

Reece I paid $14 a bale for prime lucerne on the weekend horses are getting just as expensive to run!
Bugger! I might have to put my engineering skills to the test and build an electric ATV! :) Or maybe a Steam powered ATV! Or even an off road cart pulled by dogs/ferrets/possums!
Fuel in Sydney was $1.15 per litre for Unleaded, $1.20 per litre for Diesel.

NRLIFE- our prices converted into cost per gallon equates to the following-:
If cost of diesel was say 1.20 a litre that would be $5.40Aus a gallon, that would roughly be around (very roughly) around US$4.00 a gallon
and also nearly half that is in government charges (taxes).

Petrol in Adelaide is between $0.95lt and $1.20lt. Gas is $0.52lt.
Fred Flinstone had it sussed.

I sold my car january last year (2004) and have not looked back.. i went traveling for a year and, now working again, i ride a push-bike to and from work.
Its about a 10 minute ride and costs a bowl of cereal to fill the tank
Cheers, Cam
Yeah the price of Diesel is giving me the sh*ts in Melbourne as well. I was stoked when I pay'd $1.15 for it on friday, it's a good change from the normal $1.20 :x .
Hi all
Dont send me hate mail but i get Diesel for $.50L. A 44gallon drum or 205L for $100 and my car toped up for free.
Have a good hunt
Chris
i am nearly the same Chris but i just swipe the company bp card and it cost nothing. It does equal out though as my girlfriend has a V8 ss commodore and she only knows 1 speed so it goes through $80 a week. At the moment fuel is $1.08 and we are supposed to be getting a government subsidy here in qld. Cheaper to run your car on coke or pepsi at the moment.

NRALIFE- That price would equate to 46.5c a litre (US), about 50+c a litre in Australian cents, not bad compared to over here we are paying $1.20 a litre,

Marcus- It was the Hawke/Keating labour governments that aligned the oil price with the world parity price, even tho we have over 50% own supplied here, also the Keating Government that placed the fuel tax to be aligned to the CPI ,so it does not matter what Party you vote for they are all still liars, and only there for their own benefit, the fuel tax was (when put on) to be for roads,  HA! HA! HA!,now here in Victoria we have a labour government saying they intend to collect over 30% more in traffic fines in the coming year, and THAT THIS WILL BE (you guessed it) ALL TO GO TO ROAD FUNDING    ,pardon me if i have a laugh, and all this from a government that has our welfare in mind (we are called the nanny state)  ,we are so far over governed in this country it is a joke, some say get rid off the state governments, then this will only create little Hitlers running local governments (councils) then they will align themselves to one of the parties and we are then back to square one-a big power trip.I think i should stop here now.
