gday guys just wondering about big game carbons if any of you guys have used them and what you think of them and how much it works out an arrow. have any of yous broke/bent them and how heavy they are im wondering if i should switch to them thanks. jerry
What do you plan to hunt?
I have taken Sambar with Easton 400 arrows and had no problems at all.
I am currently trialing some Whitetails that I got off Kimall and they are a lot heavier than the Eastons.
Gday Jerry,
I use the gold tip big game 100(10.5gpi) and they are very good though they are a bit pricy at $120 a dozen, I just started using the gold tip tradionals 75/95's which aree $86 dz and weigh 11.6gpi and seem to work well.

I've just started using some Goldtip Traditionals 35/55 cut to 28 inches. With a 125g Outback Hunter and 6mm flywire tubing up the centre, the total weight per finished arrow comes to 694g. They are very weighty little arrows and when you combine this with their small diameter, I reckon they will penetrate extremely well. I hope so anyway.
These arrows fly well from my 60# Martin Savannah longbow and they penetrate very deeply into my practice butt with 125g field points. I haven't killed anything with them yet, but I'd be very surprised if they didn't perform well.
I actually made them for my 54# Chekmate bow, but they turned out to be a bit overspined for some reason. They kept shooting low and to the left. As it turns out, it doesn't matter much because they work well in the heavier bow.

jerry i cant remember now,i know i traded in my matthews legacy in on it,,i get all my bows from rob donnerely at casino archery supplies,he has been looking after me for years,he is the original matthews importer,i would suggest giving him a call, tell him u were talking to me,he will prob charge u double then... :D :D ..no just kidding...i also bought my outback and a matthews mustang from him for my partner...
they do have the new xt out too now thats like a combination of the speed of the switchy with the shortness of the outback,im looking at trading my outback on one of them soon, when i make my mind up. :D
feel free to ask anything anytime,i dont get anything from this, but if somethings good or someone looks after me,im more than happy to spread the word around...cheers pat :D

ok thanks pat i might give him a ring i have herd a far bit of good stuff about mathews bows i have a mate that is an outfitter over the states and he recons that everybody over there has mathews bows what do you think of them whats so good about them
I used the big game 100+ for 2 years and i really liked them but they are not as tough as the CarbonTech Rhinos so the in the end the CarbonTechs are better by far.

jerry jmoh,i first picked up the legacy when i was shooting a hoyt,i had had a couple,it was just so easy to draw and so smoothto shoot and on realese there was no hand shock..since then ive moved along with the models and i feel that they get better....now straight up i am going to say there is alot of great bows out there,i personally enjoy shooting the matthews plus u have a no worries life time for the original owner warrenty..another good site to visit is the matthes forum,a bunch of good fellas on there, just like here, and doesnt matter what brand of bow u shoot, but a great source of tech and product advice from across the board.all the best pat :D

how pricey are the carbon tech rhinos
At Archery supplies there $130 a doz at the moment, they seem to have take a rather large price increase since they are so popular with everyone, the yanks cannot get enough of them!

ok thanks guys is there a cheaper version of the carbon tech rhinos like the 2219 gamegetter and gamegetter 2 and camohunters is there carbon techs like that coz i do alot of rabbits shooting have you ever bent or broke one
mate carbons dont bend (as in stay bent) and rarely break. in aus i did a lot of stump shooting with alloys and carbons, and as long as i didnt loose them, the carbons were always cheaper in the long run. bent/broke plenty of alloys, never broken a carbon while stumping. :D
