how much helical twist is required to make a difference i got a bpe jig for christmas but it doesn't seem to have much helical twist at all is that normal not to have much?
i have adjusted it so i can get maximum helical but there doesn't seem to be much there either. :?

What does the clamp look like?, it might be a straight jig.

Rohan,
I don't know of the BPE jig, but I use a JO JAN straight jig offset slightly and get goog broadhead flight from 4" vanes.
Not sure of the angle but here are some pics

as you can see the offset is only slight.

Here's my helical, pretty fruity. I think if you can get the buggers to spin like crazy, the chance of them planing is greatly reduced. These arrows come out of my bow like projectiles, no planing even with the widest Ribteks!
