i've just got myself a realtree hardwoods 3D leafy suit off ebay but it is so dark i'm wondering wether it'll stand out like dogs balls where i hunt up north because the grass is light brown and alot of the time thats the only cover i've got. Maybe add some strips of light brown paint? or would this scent it up to much?

Gday BB05,
I agree that the suit may be to dark for hunting the open plains but will blend ok within some of the thicker timber. I recently got myself an asat 3d suit and it is bloody brilliant for hunting all the terrain encountered in the tropics(dry season anyway) maybe u should enquire about one!

thanks bear and aussiehunter, i was thinking of trying to fade it. I was going to get the ASAT but found this suit on ebay for just 75 bucks but i guess it'll pay to have different camo patterns anyway. Does adam greentree still deal in ASAT?

Imagin being a retailer for Cammos and having Greentree as a Surname

I would wash your new cammos like 5 times in a row without soaps and using an extra setting so its soaking rinsings and spinning for longer,
and leave it on the clothes line for a week or two in direct sunlight :D

maybe even throw it in a dryer with some poker chips.. Or is that just with money launding? GET IT !!

 will try the fading treatment but also think it would be worth investing in an ASAT suit.

If it only cost you $75 and you're still not happy with it after trying to make it fade, I'd definately hit it with a light brown pressure pack paint can in big vertical stripes. If you completely wreck it, you've only lost $75.

I don't think you can beat the ASAT 3D suits. The thing that makes them a great camo is the bold light vertical stripes. Most of the US camo patterns are too dark for our conditions, plus they usually give the appearance of just one colour at any distance.

I hope it works out for you.

yeah i got a great deal the suit still had the tags on it but maybe i should keep it for a hunt down south or something. I have also seen pics of different camo patterns at different distances and realtree and the likes just turn into a dark blob where as the predator camo which is the pattern ASAT uses i think, performed awsome!!!!
