View Full Version : Walcha's Winter
For all those who are unsure where Walcha is, it is in NSW between Tamworth and Armidale abot 2 1/2 hours west of the coast of Coffs Harbour.
Here is a pic of myself on one of our -15 winters days hunts.

jo,looks good, ill have to try snow hunting one day..cheers pat :D
G'day Pat. The main thing to remember in snow/wet hunting is to wear waterproof boots. Can be quite cold otherwise...

Hey Jodi looks cold, ive never been to the snow yet :( One day ill get to.. it even snows here in ballarat, well so im told.. I got a Pair of HighTech V-Light series boots for christmas.. 100%water proof except for the hole ya put your foot in so if it dose i should be right! I though that ive seen your picture somewhere else, a quick flip through some mags and i found ya. Bowhunting DownUnder Dec/Jan edition. Good on ya nice looking deer :D I cant wait to shoot my first deer
Hey Jay. Thanks for the praise of my deer. Nerve wrecking hunting them but what a feeling when they go down. Hope your first comes soon.
Cheers Jo
Jay,
I have yet to see a pair of waterproof high tec boots
and they are what I choose to wear for hill walking :D :D
when I read waterproof, I think water resistant for an extra 30 minutes 8)
True that woody, I wouldnt go slodging around in the water with them, but there grate for traction in the mud! went to the Warnabul Speedway last weekend and it rained most of the time, didnt even get to see the main race! But i did collect a cupple of inches of mud under my Boots :D (they are the V-Light Boot btw)
Hey Guys, nice pic Jo, bit more snow than this shot. We were camped down Jindy way and the snow rolled in the night before. I would have been wearing my camo pants but they were frozen stiff in the morning when i got up and didnt fancy putting them on!!.

One of the few hunts i've been on where there was more ice hanging off the outside of the esky than in it!!
Cheers,
Maxy
May not be as much ice Maxy, but a top picture.
