I started with an entry level PSE, shot it pretty good once I learnt the important details, stance form etc.

Then I decided to buy the best I could find for my style and type of archery, Mathews Ultra 2 won out over a lot of other bows that I tried. I am on my second Mathews now, Switchback, Bloody awesome. I just wish they would make an 80 pounder, maybe 07.

Cheers Noel

I started with a martin, then had 2 McPherson’s, then a Browning, then an Oneida and have been shooting a Darton for the last 5 years, and I’m soon jump ship to a Hoyt I think!

If they made the outback or switchback in 80lbs I would have one mate or then again no I wouldn’t they only got 30 in draw, i need 30 1/2 to 31 is preferred, but they wont make heavy limbs anyway.

Darton made me some customs limbs for my maverick and the too you the truth there is no real reason to chance my maverick still performs as good as bows that are 3 years newer, the only thing with the Mav is the hand shock, which really is no problem. It will take some fine deer again this year, you wait, well wait till next week anyway!

The BowTech would have been good but there’s not enough draw length in the 2 models I want, and there crappy 2 piece quivers are a disgrace to the company that turns out a finely crafted bow to say here slap this piece of plastic junk on the side while your at it!

We all just like a change now and again hey.

peter m,maybe have a look at the switchback ld goes up to 32inch draw, but in 70lbs..i know what ur saying about the bowteck quiver,a mate up here turned up with the new model, nice bow,but what a dissapointment the quiver was.....strange why mathews dont bring out 80lb limbs, guys want em...good luck on the deer,im hanging for the wet to be over and get out amongst them...cheers pat :D

Martin Cougar 3 for the range.
Martin Slayr SE for the bush,
Martin Rebel 52' recurve and to top it of a
62' Martin longbow.

Have never shot anything else, but would be keen to try an ultra tech and a mathews ovation. Just to see what all the fuss is about.

In compounds I have always ever shot Hoyt's my 7th turned up today !
for the past 18months I have hunted with the Cam-Half Ultratec and had a very good time.

I say it every time , "this is the best bow I have ever shot" I will keep this one for ever , but then you shoot the new model , and well you know how it is !

The New TRYCON will re-write the books , I have shot it all day ,its the fastest smoothest quietest thing I have had anything to do with and I have shot most of them out there , dont buy another bow until you have shot one of these , you will hate yourself if you do.

I have hunts for Reds, Chital and Fallow all in the next six weeks , so I hope to be able to put it to its intended use soon.

started out with a crappy samick target recurve - 25#
got sick of shooting blanks with that one so got a samick talon - 60#
that was a good bow, but then i wanted try a longbow, so got glenn newell to make me a 60# longbow called the "defiant" - best bow i've ever shot.
then i came to japan, and ordered a few from the states.
1st was a ragim impala deluxe 50# - waste of money IMO.
then decided to try a short recurve - a bear 52" kodiak magnum - 60#
good bow - but to short for my longer draw length.
then i got a martin mamba - 60#. great bow.
next was a checkmate falcon 51# - awsome recurve - better shooting qualities than the mamba - just. they are both outstanding recurves however.
i have one last bow coming in now - a checkmate takedown hunter 2.
it has 50 and 60# limbs and will make a great backpack hunting bow.

It's Martin for me Martin hatfield T/D recurve, Martin mamba recurve and in the next few weeks (hopefully) my HUNTSMAN recurve :D

First bow was a martin tiger, then moved on to a PSE Nova which i love and have taken some great game with but it's alittle outdated now so am just about to order a switchback. With all the great reviews ive heard about this bow i just wonder if it makes you a cuppa in the morning for when you wake up!

I think i'll save 1 more pay-packet and then splash out on the matthews!!! Cant wait. :D

Exactly how do you lose a bow?

Did you put it down & the camo was so good you couldn't see it or what???

Sold them and bought a perks stingray T/D (first tradbow)
I now shoot a hoyt Gamemaster, a Damon howatt super diablo, a traditional Korean horsebow and I will get my Fox T/D longbow in about a fortnight. I love my trad gear but I get the urge from time to time to take the easy way and get another compound.

i use an old martin compound, hoyts reflex extreme compound that i purchased from scott,a fred bear take down recurve, that my uncle found on the side of the road,an old but nice timber recurve which i,m unsure of the type and i also was given a really old bow...apparently it is from around the 1940's..but i dont use this one..
I'll have to post some pics and give ya's a look at my lil collection
cheers

P.S. i still havent been out bush with the hoyts reflex, but i'm going away with Arbee this weekend,so see how it goes.

Where do i start. Started out with Fred Bear recurve, changed to compound, Jennings x 4, High country x 1, Huntsman take down recurve (still use to this day), Reflex Grizzly, Bear paw, PSE tanh changed to Mathews only with Legacy, Outback and Switchback, still prefer the Outback over the Switchback, thats just my personal choice, they both shoot great.
