thats interesting bit of gear,dont know how good the quality record would be,but hey for the price and the simplistity of it ,be all right,,,

ive just recieved a head cam which are made by sony that u can attach to a head band or comes with other mountinmg possibilities,ppl use them on bike helmets,in racing cars etc and it feed back to my digital videocamera ,im hoping that it will give me good footage as i shoot,esp as i hunt mostly on my own..hav to see how it goes..

it was cheaper than the above,but u do hav to hav a videocamera...
personally i really enjoy videoing my hunts just adds another challenge plus great to watch and share later... :D pat..

Aussie mate, I’ve seen a Yankee DVD made using this same camera, There DVD was very poor (not the camera fault) just the makers of the DVD should have never have been allowed to put a DVD this bad, the picture quality looked ok, but the only thing that this unit didn’t work to well is because it had no zoom, the picture just looked to small.

But I guess if you sneak up to 10 meters on your boars it would be ok, but longer shots would look a bit odd.

pete ok...with the one i pictured here,it comes with another 2 lens and it has a built in 3 x zoom..as an extra i havent got yet,u can attach a small remote to it and u can use a zoom function,plus there is also a wireless kit..so im going to trial this and maybe look into the extras after,,this has about a 520 resolution ccd so should be good quality,plus a 2 channel mic...

did the other one record sound??

Yeah from memory it had sound mate, it think if you really put the effort in to set it up right and get zoom out of it you will get some excellent footage mate.

I am very new to hunting with a video, and since a mostly hunt by my self it seams a little pointless taking video of animal then showing on the ground without the stalk or shot taken, and the video camera I have is not really suited for hunting the zoom is only 10x which is not enough and you get sucked into using the digital zoom only to find the picture quality is crap, and the shaky picture is not much good either.

I was lucky enough to have my mate Aaron took some excellent footage when I was up Wepia this year!

But like most it hard to carry around a vid and try and hunt deer at the same time, and you know deer there’s less people in the field when you are the better, this I why it think I have done so well in the last few years on deer as I normally hunt them by myself.

my panosonic is only 12 optic,i dont worry about digital.im going to order a 2x ad on lens to increase to 24....i carry both bow and tripod with camera mounted,hav to get a sling for it...at the moment i carry in on the stalk and then set up back 20 or 30 metres on wide and then stalk in..often i get the shot,thats why now ive got the head cam,ill leave one camera back with a wide view and go on in with the head cam and hopefully then have two angles of the shot and then edit together,..

makes the hunt a little harder sometimes,def having a partner filming is the go..i went back to that other camera on the net,but couldnt see any mention of sound...not that its a big deal,but i love it when u hit a boar and u can slow down the pic and hear that roar...

i think that other device is a easy and simple way to get some personal footage...id reckon it will be popular..and u could set it up after u have got ur cam to take some more footage..

my next step is do get a better edit software and a good dvd dual buner..

No he wasnt, but there where other stags roaring at times, I had worked out what sections there where feeding in and roughly where they were bedding and hunted the normal transitions, like all deer hunters do.

Yeah I think so, I’m behind in the story writing by a bit at the moment, still have to put one together for this year Cape York trip as well, but like I have doe before I will post them in the stories section first anyway.
