I know there's some nasty ticks that reside over east and in northern Australia, but i dunno about their numbers/quantity.

The spiky scrub in the scarp outta Perth is absolutely loaded with 'kangaroo' ticks and since taking up bowhunting i've become well acquainted with the little pricks.

I met a local bowhunter in the area i hunt yesterday and he told me that 'pepper' ticks are out now and i'd never heard of 'pepper' ticks. he explained that they're only tiny but in big numbers.

I'm now victim to 'pepper' ticks after then spending all afternoon scrambling along 'roo trails up in the surrounding hills. As on examining myself at the end of the stalk these tiny little ticks were found to be crawling all over me.

now i've got ITCHY little red welts all over me (about 50!!) and i'm freaking out a fair bit i can tell ya! :o :o

i won't dismiss 'peper' ticks again - tiny but make up for it in quantity and will stick to walk trails more often!!!

arrrgghhhh!!!!! :o

i wonder if the pepper tick scourge is found elsewhere in Oz or is WA alone just that lucky?

Have you tried rubbing in vinegar, works on sea stings, Blue Bottles and such, may give some relief.

yeah... thanks spider.

but it's too late - i'm PEPPERED (and it does look like **** Cheyneys mistaken me a for a quail and given me a blast of buckshot). :o

peeing on it probably brings short relief as well and even rubbing acid in my eyes might even help me temporarily forget about the plethora of itchy red welts?? :(

forget dugites and wild boar charge etc - pepper ticks are the most evil critter in the scrub for mind.

beware the pepper tick!!

best thing for instant relief i've found is still screaming my nut off...

ARRRGGHHHHHH!! :!:
