i do not want to email ya adam i will say it openly. Yes 99% of this site is usually dedicated to talking crap. But that is fine .I think of this site as a club and when i go to a archery club 99% of the talk is crap. There is not much you can do about it ,it is human nature i think. If you try and make it that all we talk about is archery related i think we would have a very boring site.

Gaday Adam...While ever you have an open forum there is always going to be a lot of "crap postings" but they are only crap if you read them.
I have posted my share of crap on here the same as you and everyone else but at the same time i have learn't heaps from this site and being new to bowhunting it has been a great help(where else can we go to learn??).
So if you don't want the "crap" i think you have only one choice..Start a closed forum with a selected few and talk bowhunting only but i think that would bore everyone in it to tears.
you do have a few other choices however...the first is to read only what you think is not crap and don't reply in any crap posts.
secondly...read the lot as i do,enjoy a laugh and take the piss out of everyone and learn from the none crap posts.
thirdly...take your bat and ball and go home which i think is a cop out and if my kids did this they would get a kick in the arse.
Anyway they are just my thoughts and if you are leaving because of the crap element so be it but i don't think there will be any winners from it.
Regards...Sparra

You're right Jason, what is crap to some is entertaining to others, and a bit of friendly banter is the Australian way and part of our culture, and we need to hang on to some of our culture when you see how Americanised everybody is becoming these days. I know that I am older than most here but it really hurts my ears to hear Australians refer to each other as Guys, Buddy (which is a homosexual referance in this country) and Pal. Bloody disscusting I reckon, I wont say anymore on that subject because I will never stop.
But as far a bowhunting goes I don't find any joy in carbon shafts, sights and range finders and all of the other bull**** that goes with all of this commericalised side of our sport, it is mainly focused on the end result and not the hunt itself. It's a shame to see the way Australians are going with their bowhunting today. Well that's my opinion anyway, not all will agree but it is up to each hunter to persue bowhunting however they see fit...Glenn...

Unless you actually know a little about a person that replies to your posts their opinion is worth less than the time it takes to read it. All the off topic banter and general "crap" as Adam calls it is the stuff that shows us small windows into who the other people on the site are.
Sure, you could maybe do without it but then when somebody replies to a post like "what broadheads do you think are best" you will have no idea whether the replies are from real aussie bowhunters or stooges for some broadhead manufacturer.
And Adam, if you think your swan song to this forum, before you go off to do whatever, should be to spray some sort of elitist **** on all the people here who are just trying to get to know each other, then you definatly haven't thought much about who it is you might want to be buying that book you say you are writing.

This is just what I wanted, To see how you all feel about the site. I get email from members complaining about post being jaked by "crap" and this was the easiest way to see your opinions.

Personal the only post that interest me these days are the stricly hunting ones, thats wht I've asked Barry to remove me from admin. Been doing this site from day one and im over it these days.

Not having a stab at anyone it just annoying that every post goes off topic into a big joke.

Jindy as for the book its already been garbaged by afew on here. And customers are customers if this post changes people minds on buying it thats there lost.

You can do all the good in the world but if you slip up once your a dog. I was surprised one thanks in my email.

I'll read the 90% just so I can get to the 10%.

Worth every bit of the time it takes to find it.

Sometimes I just sit in front of the computer having a chuckle at some of the antics.

Thanks for the entertainment, guys....errr.... sorry, Glen.... Blokes

Didn«ÉŸt you tell us all that you were leaving just because you were too busy to do any extra work? Now you tell us it«ÉŸs because the rest of the crew on here aren«ÉŸt hard core enough for you.
You need to get your story straight.

Jindy Im not saying im leaving because of the likes of the site. Id change it before that. The site has always been running for the members and there wants. So what do yas want, what it is already by the looks of it. Im happy reading the post about bowhunting and leaving the ones that don't interest me.

As site Founder and "equivalent" admin to Adam, I'd like to add my two bobs worth...

I will start by saying, Ad's for whatever reason mate, you leaving this site is a tremendous loss. Mate, we started this site together over three and a half years ago now, and then, like I still believe now, you are an inspiration of bowhunting energy, excitement and spirit like none other I have met before or since. I have never met a bloke with more passion for this sport than you champ and to hear that the flak you have copped from people on this site has gotten on top of you a bit mate, is sad.

I know exactly where you're comin from and must say that I think I'm the only one who truely can identify with you in this, no other member having been involved as with as much time, energy, commitment and passion as myself. I think it will be a great test of the site and the members to see how long it will keep going as well as it has in your absence. You've been a great driving force behind this site, the discussions and debates, the promotion, the competitions and the support for myself and Baz as site "host Admins".

I originally asked you to come on board as Assistant Manager because I saw in you an untapped resource of enthusaism for bowhunting I hope you regain that enthusiasm for TBGA and don't stay absent for too long.

As for those who have had a go at Adam for whatever reason he's chosen to take his leave of absence I would like to think that you might consider offering a little more respect to those of us who have put endless, untold, unkown and often (it seems) unappreciated amounts of our own time, comittment, energy (and dollars) into the running, maintenance, moderation, administration, promotion and creation of this site. Sometimes we get a little sick and tired of being bagged out the second you feel there has been something done wrongly or that you reckon you could do better. As I alluded to in my ASAT whinge thread...if you feel you can do better then put your money where your mouth is and pitch in to help out instead of sitting in the sidelines criticising those who are prepared to give it a go. If not, offer constructive criticism and suggestions, not complaints, baggings and negativity; because, it soon becomes very tiresome and leads to people giving up. Basically I'm saying, put up or shut up.

That's my two bobs worth...

Luke

Well petal you've had your whinge, here's mine. If you need haelp ask, and stop pranc'n around like peacocks, and wanting to be important.
Thought you might be do'n the job because you were into bowhunting, not self gratification, maybe I was wrong. Well.. my hand is up, ya want help?
I'm ready to put up, think you're a man enough to shut me up, you wank.

Luke
22-04-05, 05:38 PM
mate I can shut u up quicker than you can imagine...and I have no probs in doin so...been doin this a long time...

Not into it for self gratification but do think it's not too much to ask to have some respect for the job that we do in keeping this thing goin for you to slag off at us on....

Talks cheap, want my address?, you might find some of us have been do'n it a bit longer! Or did you mean by shutt'n me out??
Before your " Shut Up Comment" don't recall anyone slagg'n off at ya, you didn't ask for respect, you were wanting kiss arse. Adams addressed the comments pretty well on his own, surprised you think he needs a baby sitter :o Maybe the wrong bloke left :?:

So, who is this directed at then Axe?

And by "doing this a long time" I mean running this site mate, not hunting....

Why don't you "put up" then if you don't want to "shut up"...email me and let me know how your contribution as mod or admin might improve and promote this site in a positive manner and we'll give it all the consideration it deserves....there's your chance...are you "man" enough to take it (as you might say).

luke

Axe
22-04-05, 06:06 PM
Use your imagination Luke, it wasn't you, at that stage you hadn't slagged off. I didn't ask for admin, you're the one cry'n help, tell me what you want, better still, get Baz to tell me, I'll help, as I'm sure many others would if ask. If moderator is what you want, I'll do it, but tell me, does that mean I have to tell members to "put up or shut' if I disagree with their views. :?:

Luke
22-04-05, 06:13 PM
I'd rather you clean up the mess and just tell us who it was directed at.

I'm not cryin help either Axe, just simply sayin that over time criticism and negativity wears one's patience and fuse very thin and I have no time left for ANYONE who partakes in any form of slagging off at ANY admin or mod of this site. I don't care who might be doin the "slagging" I'm gonna stand by the other admin and mods of this site no matter what, wether they need "baby sitting" or not.

Let me know what you have to offer the site. I'm not going to ASK you for help...that never works...how many times in clubs do we hear people asking for members to help out the ever tireless committee only to have practically nobody put their hand up...it's a waste of time. I'd prefer you to tell us (admin) what you can bring to the site as an improvement or positive influence...

Ok guys I'm totally with Ric on this one and I'm locking this thread. (Be pissed with me if you want, I can take it :-) )

Remember we are all here for the same reasons, even if we each get different things outta this forum.

Adam worded his first post badly and he copped stick about it (some of that stick was too harsh). He was also man enough to address it.

Adam has and will always have my respect, but so does everyone else posting on this thread. So lets just remember we are mates and keep this thing civil.

Thats all I have time for, I'm gonna be late for my weekend hunt with Kim. :D

Remember guys, this is about something we love; so lets get back to it!!!
