Ok since we are rebuilding the site should we consider changing the domain name?

Adam and I have disscussed it but would like to open it up to comment.

We could for example keep it as TBGA but chance the domain name to keep it shorter ie:

www.bowgroup.com.au

www.bowhunting-forum.com (like AF?)

We would like your feedback on this peoples???

I think a shorter domain would be a great idea. You can still keep the excisting one but use the shorter one to let people know where you are.

I just googled bowhunters and you get of ABA stuff its not until you add group that this site comes up

I tried OZBOWHUNTERS and only got one near it and thats nzbowhunters

so I suggest OZBOWHUNTERS.COM.AU

can't say I didn't try

I agree with coach, the new name (whatever it is) needs to have hunting or hunter in it so people know what the site is about.

Stay with the original is my opinion, as someone just said, the shirts stickers and such, AS WELL AS THE AD IN BOWHUNTING DOWNUNDER

The site would still be thebowhuntersgroupofaustralia and the address would be www.thebowhuntersgroupofaustralia.com so shirts caps would still all exist but we would also have a shorter address linked to the site aswell so its easier for new comers to remember and pass on.


This is the next advert for the mag we can link www.ozbowhunters.com into it if we are happy with that. It gets my vote. Howlingdog must be about to spew.

Ok guys we are keeping The Bowhunters Group of Australia... all we are talking about there is the 'advertised domain name. We make it shorter its easier for people to type in.

We can also still keep this website domain it will just be a re-direct to any new 'shorter' domain like ozbowhunters etc.

Only thing about ozbowhunters is its clost to ozbow so I would kinda feel like we are pinching it??????

How about www.bowhunters.com.au? It's available.

The .au should be enough to indicate it's an Aussie site.

It's simple, concise and easily remembered. Plus it's the kind of name that you would type in just to see what turns up, and should rank highly in a search engines index.
