View Full Version : Amazing hunt this weekend

I had amazing time this weekend hunting a property in Mudgee that is among the most physically demanding and beautiful places I've hunted in Australia.
Everything on this trip was "text-book" bowhunting. I harvested two billies, both of which are good representatives of the species, with clean one-arrow heart shots at less than 20 metres. In fact, I was able to shoot one goat at about 4 metres.
More importantly, I spent my time in the hills, with no emails, mobile phones, meetings, flouro lighting or work colleagues to harass me. I feel human again (well, as close as I can get!)
My only regret is that I didn't bring my camera :( Oh well... I'll post the trophy pics when I get the chance.

Pat,
Neither Bob nor I can wait to get up there and relieve you of some boars.
While I am attempting to get clearance from the Minister of Finance (my wife!!) to take a big scrub bull I rather doubt that will happen this year.
Hopefully, the raining will stop by then!!

I met a guy once who would escape to Lake Tantangra (sic) above Lake Eucumbene because he had a high profile, high stress job in the city. He would head into the hills for 10 days exactly as you said, pull 2 dead trees together and let them burn away over the week. He said he needed it to for his sanity to survive.
Would have loved to see some pics on the goats. :D
Dave.
It sounds like you had a great time Jacob.
I've become so used to escaping into the bush every couple of months, for a hunting/camping trip to recharge my batteries, I don't know if I would survive if I couldn't. :D
Good on ya Jacob, loking foward to seeing the pictures of the trophies, must take that camera mate...Glenn...
Good to hear you can live without the evil mobiles. Can't wait to do exatly what you did mate. Well done on the billies. Hope to see some pics soon.
Chris
