I have one of these only 60# @ 28".

My draw is 29.5" and it is still very smooth to that draw.

Anyone looking for a cheap but good T/D recurve needn't look any further.

Matey.. why can't you draw it to 31 inches? I don't get what you are saying here?

Some bows stack so bad after a certian draw length , it's like hitting a brick wall, especially working recurves.
Puk you can wedge the limbs to give the bow limbs more deflex and that will give you more draw length, I don't know why bow companies just don't supply them with t.d.bows...Glenn...

It stacks between 29 and 30 inches mate.
I need a longer bow to give me the draw length i need. I have been told that i might need to go custom made to get one long enough.

All else aside, i feel as though i always try to be a jack of all trades and master none. I do not have enough time to spend on a recurve and a compound. I would have to do a hell of a lot more work on a recurve before i was confident to take it hunting.
I am not necessarily getting out of trad, just taking a breather and concenrating on my "wheelie bow" for a while.
I will jump back in one day with the right gear for me, and probably will feel a world of difference. I have got caught a few times now getting the wrong gear for me or not doing enough homework first and not enjoying the experience as a result. It has taken me a few times to learn.

With this said, the Samick is quite a good little bow, just not right for me at the moment. Besides, i need the money for a GPS.

With a draw length like your Puk you would be better off with a recurve of 62" or longer. Howatt use to make a 66" recurve called a Ventura, I don't know if they make them anymore, they were a very good bow and not awkard at all...Glenn...

Thanks Glenn, the other ones i have been pointed towards are the chekmate bows of which Brian is a huge fan.
Their t/d hunter II would probably do the job, and the maker and i have discussed the idea of slightly longer limbs etc.

I'll leave that for a few years down the track. When i have learned a bit more about stalking and the animals i hunt, and can get close enough to use a recurve.

No worries Puk, you couldn't go past a Checkmate bow, he is a very good bowyer, very good value for money...Glenn...

Not meaning to hi-jack your thread but do the funny looking, sock covered toes in the photo come with the bow?

Bahahahahaha.

Shut up little brother.
Read your signature, you just spoke and offered proof.

With friends like you, who needs enemas?

Just kidding.

P.S. I'll have you know, those are the LOUDEST toes around. They can scare away any target animal species in a 5 mile radius by homing in on every dry twig or tripping on every root in sight. You just wait and see, you whose feet are bigger than mine!
