hi can any one tell me where i can get an ambidextrous recurve bow made out of laminated wood, not fibre glass . needs to be around 30 pounds. i can be contacted by email timstorm66@hotmail.com. do they exist??

the WesternWards I sold earlier on ozbow was ambidextrous .Maybe you could build your own.
Don't know where you could buy an all wood recurve, I use to sell them but gave it away. I made a nice recurve once with a sinew back but wouldn't sell it, as Clinglish said you could make one yourself.
It can baas simple as making a flatbow around the 60" mark and after you have it tillered but not shot in too much you can add the static ears on it to make it into a recurve and then rework it down to your desired weight, I have done this several times and it works very well. Some timbers like are very good for bending into recurves, it's a good bow wood...Glenn...

What type of timber was that mate?
Sorry, should have read my own post before I posted it. Crows Ash I was talking about. It's a good bow timber and has mechanical properties. Another good timber I have used is grey ironbark, haven't tried to make a recurve out of it yet bit even if it doesen't lend itself to steam bending (I don't see why it wouldn't, just haven't tried it myself yet) it would be a good one to add the recurves on the bow after...Glenn...

Have you had a look at a PSE Deputy, come in 20-30#. Great bow for the money!
