Members I am thinking of doing something for the members each year along the lines of opening up one of my properties for a 10 day hunt, It would be along the lines of:
1. All members welcome.
2. Members supply all their needs.
3. Cost $100 per vehicle per day. (Thats $25 a day each for 4 hunters)
4. You can stay as many days as you like but the trip will be for 10 days only.
5. I would run the hunitng in areas and co-ordinate that during the hunt, that way everybody gets a go at a different area each day and hunters are kept safely apart.
6. Held Cape York.
7. Would have to keep it to 10 vehicles so a possible 40 hunters. Must all be members of site and have started at least 2 topics and have 10 posts. I want this to be a members hunt for all the ideas and thoughts you guys & gals put into the site.

sounds like an awesome idea Mick :)
Just need plenty of notice to plan time off work, driving up ect

Very generous of you. Opens up oppurtities for guys who can't normally afford it. Will probably lead to future bookings too. Great stuff. I'm keen.
Now this is a great offer! Any one that go's along will not be dissapointed! Count us in! cheers Scott
Sounds like a good idea, but how many people on a hunt do you think is too many?
I’ve never been keen on to many hunters running around at the same time, is this property that large and well stocked with game, that it can accommodate some many people at once? Presuming there where ten or more people like at bow comp?
A brilliant idea and an awesome gesture Mick!
For me it would be a great opportunity to get my butt in gear and actually do some serious hunting with people with experience as well as a chance to put faces to names I've been talking to on here.
Aligning holidays could be an issue with teachers like me having set holiday times but other than that, count me in!!

Just a brief description of the property:
There is approx 1.4 million acreas that I could use but in general use only about 400,000 acreas of it for hunting. Travel becomes a issue if we venture too far out.
I will be able to do approx 10 areas of about 40sq Km's for this type of hunt that way each vehicle gets to hunt each area once and the whole hunting area once.
It allows hunters not to run into each other and makes it very safe.
I would be recommending peole bring a tent etc and cooking gear but there will be Electricy showers and toliets.
There is a heap of room and we could make a little tent city with all the mod cons.

Very generous of you Mick,
Sounds like a great idea, I just have a question over whether it will encourage people to join the site and just make the minimum posts per year just to get on a good cheap hunt?
How can you/we vet people against this to ensure long time supporting members get a crack at such a hunt as well?
Tim
Top gesture Mick, well and truly outside the box, would deffinately try to make it :D

Maybe on Dongles thought, you could make it open to those who joined the site before this announcement and anyone joining after the announcement would have to wait till after a given amount of time before they are eligible. 6mths 1 year. Who knows.
I would also bow to seniority on the site seeing as I have only been a member for a short time compared to many.
Maybe the offer could go out in order of membership and either taken or passed on to the next. Eventually you will get through everyone.
Just a thought.

I am open to suggestions as I want it to be a true members hunt and not ring-ins. I would suggest that with approx 40 places up for grabs it will also get a few guys together for travel etc so when and if we get this off the ground we give heaps of notice at least 12 months so hols etc can be organised. So if you guys have got hunting mates that aren't logged in get them going and into the computer culture... 8)
Next stage will be a memebrs Vote on elligability to attend...How does that sound.
Then a vote on month etc until all details are done:
Hope to get it going next year:-

Top idea Mick.
Hell, I'm a long way away.
I have never been to the cape, and would almost give my left arm to get up there, but that might make hunting a little tough!
It might give me a chance to put some faces to names, as well as hunt with my brother, something i have never got to do yet.
I will organise my QLD hols to coincide, leave the wife and kids with her folks, and get on up there!

I think its a great Idea, Some of my favourite memories are from group hunts I hosted some time back. Ill do my best to get there depending on time of year. Don't even care if I don't get to hunt, just be good to make new friends face to face.

Excellent idea, Mick.
I would love to hunt the Cape, especially while meeting the people that I have gotten to know through this site.
My only problem is getting staff to cover me while I am away so I couldn't say that I was a definate starter until next year.

Mick,
One question, would partners be allowed to accompany the lucky hunters? (some one has to get my beers!)
