View Full Version : A Sad day for me
I just received my new string form Zen Archery in Brisbane for my Bowtech. The new string looks HOT. I took my bow to Black Stump Archery to get the new string fitted (my day was looking good). When the bow came out of the press Paul (owner of black stump and good bloke) and my self drew my bow (still the day was looking good). When I got home I increased the poundage to max then back it off 3 full turns and drew my bow.
CRACK
Split limb
Now my day has gone to ****. I have just rang the people I got the bow from and am waiting for then to call back.
In the pic you can not see the crack and my camera is good enough to get a close up, but the string looks good

A very Sad Chris
Oh mate that sucks big time, but tell my how big is the crack? I know they delam the first layer quite often which properly won’t hurt to shoot it, but still it’s a worry.
Again I hope they made the string to the exact same specs that BowTech use as they are quite funny in this department, when it comes to timing and cable and string lengths.

Is it still under warranty?
The bow is under 12months old and the string was made to the same specks as the Bowtech string.

That sux big time mate :(
Sounds like the bowtech rumours about troubles with split limbs simply wont go quietly into the night  :?
Hope you can get it sorted with little hassles Chris.
Luke
By the way this topic is not bashing my Bowtech, Zen Archery or Black Stump. I will still go to all of these biasness to do stuff.
It is just a post to say that my limb split and I am sad about it.

Chris I hope you dont take my comment to be a go at bowtech's either. I had an ESD not long after they first hit the country. Have since sold it a few years back but hear it's going great.
Just a shame they keep having limb problems.
Luke :D

As the resident minister, i am offering grief counselling if needed Chris.
Seriously though, what a pain in the butt. I hope it gets sorted out soon.

Mate my next bow will be a Bowtech. After taking a very close look, it may only be the camo finish. I will shoot it this week end and I will let you know if I end up in hospital getting a limb removed from my head
you have got a top bow in your hands,Don’t let people tell you different
just ask Macka

Hope you guys have no troubles getting your bows sorted.

Seriously Chris,
I was at Archery Mart in Adeliade the other day, and picked up a few Bowtechs, even drew a few of the longer ones. I must admit they had me dreaming. They seem NICE (understatement of the year). :D
I don't think the "minister for finance" would understand me getting one 6 months after getting a new bow last time, though. I think i'll stick with the Phantom for a while.
All the best with the warranty stuff,
Puk
