I've just discoverd that, indeed, Martin Sabers dont come in a left handed model. Does anyone know of any bows around the $500 mark(bare bow) that DO come in left handed? Parallel / semi Parallel limb is preferable.
Please help.
i thought your saber was coming on saturday :? whats going on?

Here are a few lefties within your price range.
PSE - Nova and Dakota
Darton - Trojan and Vapor
Diamond - Raptor
I know PSE and Darton make a nice reliable bow.

The Diamond cant be too bad (made by BowTech), and I am seriously considering it. Archery Supplies are selling some on special :)
I have a mate who uses a darton vapor, and recons it is an awesome bow but I havn't heard about the diamonds.
Go the Diamond mate!
If not the Darton is very good also.

Nice looking setup.
Been looking for my first bow looking at the Darton Vapor package myself, but the triumph looks damm good. Is the ATA a bit short for a novice. Or should I be looking at the rapture

The shop is in Tamworth, the guy there has orderd the bow from Archery Supplies because i laid down a deposit on the saber, but that wasn't availiable so I had to buy somthing else form that shop because the deposit was non refundable, so he agreed to order the Archery Supplies kit for me.
I am going to pick it up on Saturday :D

Ok then, now this is a flippin' joke! I've just been told that after 3 weeks of bull*%t, I've got to wait another week due to the fact that "certain parts are not currently availiable left handed"

Brodie,
First off I cant believe that a shop that sells you something thats unavailable wont give you your deposit back. Thats crap, Its their fault for cryng out loud!!
Now there is a problem with ordering the new bow?
Have you called or emailed Archery Supplies yourself? Or just check their website for list of availability of the bow.
Im NOT getting at you Brodie..
Ok Im done now, I feel better...
Bill
what a pain in the ass
man when you get it you'll be happy though

brodie i didnt want to say anything before, but personally its wrong of a shop to hold ur depoist if they cant supply the original bow u ask for.
u have every right to ask ur money back.
mate i dont know how old u are,but it seems they are taking adavantage of u.
personally if they cant give u assurance that ur bow will turn up in a week now as last stated,u have every right to ask for ur money back..
i hope it works out for u..

We've sorted out the deposit after some not too idle death threats, and I was about to take legal action, It's just taking so flippin' long

Brodie, good to hear you got your funds returned. I don't want to sound like a broken record... "It's better to support Aussie businesses..." BUT- like you, I've experienced too many mistakes buying locally... and we, the archers end up paying for them (sorry to rant).
POINT IS: these guys below were 1000% on the ball with everthing from prompt reply emails, correct stock, advice and shipping. (I've ordered three bow packages through them) Check out the bow packages, you WILL save money!

personally,i wouldnt recommend a young fella or most ppl to buy a bow from overseas, unless ur very good at looking after all ur tuning issues etc,and consider warranty problems..
we have good sponsors here, plus many reputable bow shops..just need to do ya homework, get recommendations etc..
look for someone who has a physical shop and not a internet based one is a good start..
thats one of the good thing about this forum, ppl with experience..
norm no offence mate :)

all the best with ur new purchase

Brodie,
At this rate I will be back from NY before you get a bow. :D
I'll check the forum before I come back and see if your still looking. Maybe be able to help ya out.
Bill
Brodie my mate Rin on this forum shoots a Diamond Victory for his hunting bow... its sensational and deathly quiet..if you want a Diamond as per your original choice try Bensons in Sydney as they stock em.
Also agree with Norman..I got my first compound.. a.Reflex Grizzly.. as a fully setup package from Hunters Friend (www.huntersfriend.com) in the USA and they were great people to deal with...responded to email promptly and kept me notified of the delivery along the way...mind you it took about 8 weeks to arrive but I still saved over $300 had I bought the same total package locally. :D :D

As my good mate Johnno has quite rightly pointed out I shoot a Diamond Victory when hunting and I could not be happier. I shoot for Bensons and I could pick whatever bow I wanted from the shelf, Mathews, Hoyts, Bowtechs and Diamonds. For hunting I stuck with my 05 Diamond, forget the more expensive models, it is so quite I really believe it is the quietest bow ever made, very forgiving parrallel limb technology at a fraction of the cost. I will be hanging onto that bow for a while, out of all the bows I have shot I have kept this one the longest, just over a year now. You cant go wrong!!! I thing it annoys Johnno that a cheaper bow than his Bowtech Allegiance is quieter and deadlier.

Yes it was Mathews and the bow that really set the standard was the Legacy. The most parallel limb bow I have ever seen was the my Martin Phantom, when the riser snapped the limbs went past parallel. Martin P.O.S.

rinaldo...cant bag them all for a few faults...
diamonds are after all a bowtech....
all manufacturers have had there faults, just some more then others, but i spose when all of us guys keep wanting more this and that ,they the manufacturers are pushing the limits all the time , so we have have to expect a few breaks....
as long as they back them selves up..no probs
